RE: The Abyss Blade *Chapter 2 is up! Comments are appreciated*
I didn’t hear any more voices. I feel dazed, from the textures on the ground I’m in some craggy mountainous area. The problem is … where did those rogues actually leave me? I looked at the sky. It was pitch black. No moon, only hordes of malicious looking clouds. Yet, I have no time to wonder where I’m left behind because I’m interrupted by a eerie voice. It doesn’t bear any signs to be a voice from a human. I was prepared to face an unusual sort of animal charging towards me. However after the weird sounding voice nothing in the environment moved.
I stood up on my feet to observe the surroundings. What I saw did not please me even to a certain extent. I was on top of a cliff, below me was a thick, dense forest. Layers of stratification could be easily seen. I was hoping that wherever I would have to travel to get out of this mess it won’t be through that forest.
Yet again, I’m hearing the same eerie voice … now that I listen to it more attentively it doesn’t seem to be anything any sort of animal would create. More than that, it actually seemed like a human’s voice now. Yes, a human. Maybe speaking a foreign language. I wandered around the cliff until I found a path that leads to the lower ground. The eerie voice stopped. There is absolutely no noises in the surroundings right now. The thick forest is around 200 meters away from me. I expected to hear the cries of wild birds and animals. Yet, nothing at all. I’m beginning to get real suspicious of this place.
I began exploring, there was a great number of trees and other flora that I have never seen in my life before. They were also very unique in every aspect. It seems that they have adopted features of a mangrove plant even if they are not grown a mangrove environment.
After 2 hours of searching for what or who spoke or cried that unusual voice I gave up. This seemed like a purely deserted area. Dawn doesn’t seem to be breaking at all. Everywhere I glance my eyes upon I see endless darkness. At this point I vaguely remember some of my master’s words in the ninja academy which were;
“Darkness in the night is the root for all illusions caused to the weak human mind”
There was a sudden change in the atmosphere. I’m suddenly hearing a tintinnabulation out of nowhere. I travel carefully in the path where that musical feeling is heard. The music will be highly suitable for a ritual, so that was what I was expecting to see. However no … I found my kidnappers instead.
There were the ones making the musical the sound from a strange device in a way of build which is very new to me. They seem to using it to make the ringing noise. I hid behind a craggy old pillar and observed what they were doing. They seemed to be talking to it. Maybe communicating with someone. I hardened my senses and tried to eavesdrop into their conversation.
I couldn’t even understand one word they are saying. All of them seems like a foreign language. Also, another thing. I figured out where the eerie voice was coming from. It was actually coming from that device they were holding. As I observe it more I begin to sense a pattern. First the tintinnabulation starts, then it goes all silent after that the weird eerie voice is heard.
So, I heard this eerie noise 2 hours ago. Which means these kidnappers have been checking on me. They will obviously knock me out again and probably kill me. I began to think. I didn’t get much time. They seemed to be finished with whatever they were doing. The person named Iaaki seemed disturbed. I vaguely remember his fist coming towards my face. I can’t remember exactly how long ago and what happened after that.
From the analyze I took from these 3 I could understand that Riz was a quiet type, Erole was the calm and intelligent one and Iaaki was one of the adamant kind. So, if I have any hope to get this solved by talking Erole is my only hope. Yet, they don’t know I have conscious right now and they don’t know that I’m up on my feet so I’m not going to go into their willing hands and get caught again.
With that in my mind I started running softly in a path away from them.
“Oof!” I tripped over a root of one of those mangrove type plants. Those 3 must have heard the sound of my accident because I heard voices after I fell.
”He’s escaping! Catch him!!” Of course the determined voice was Iaaki’s.
Next thing I heard was a rush of footsteps. I got my act together and ran fast as I could to the thick, dense forest which I saw before. The forest was mystifying from the inside as well as the outside. There were absolutely no birds perched on the tree branches. Only slithering snakes who doesn’t even make a “hiss.” There were some unusually large ones of a dull purple color. There were plenty of uprooted twigs and roots from trees. I slowed down my pace trying to avoid them all. I looked back while I was running to see whether they are still behind me. No, I can’t see them anymore.
I leaned on to a tree to catch my breath. While breathing fast, I heard a “swish” sort of noise through the area. I glanced quickly behind me and saw a flying object come and strike me. I think I fainted after that because I remember immense pain and no more after that until I regained my conscious trapped in a cage with a poisonous snake. The dull purple colored ones.
Right outside of the cave stood Riz, Erole and Iaaki. Erole seemed mad about something. I pretended to be unconscious to overhear them. Erole was seriously mad it seems.
“We weren’t supposed to stab him with a sword you idiot!” He was shouting at Iaaki.
“Boss said clearly to get the soul xin out of him!! Not kill him before we do that!!” He kept on shouting.
Apparently in the end of their conversation I gained the knowledge of two things. They were from Yasumatu tribe and this purple colored snakes could get out the “Soul Xin” whatever that is out of a person. Sadly enough I can’t remember the rest from there. Whether the snake got my “Soul Xin” or not. I only remember waking up near a small village that is close by to my tribe. People were glad to see me. However none of them believed what happened to me because none of them have heard of a tribe called Yasumatu before.
That is all the past. I must forget it now.
