Collecting The "Card Collector Help" Thread

Gamestop has 7 packs of Primal Cash on the online store for 26+ after tax and free shipping :)

This might sound kind of odd, but does anyone know where I can find a reverse holo Oddish 112/146 from Legends Awakened, the psychic one. I'd post a pic for reference but am currently limited to a tablet and cannot do it.

Thankfully, not long after I posted about that issue on AmiAmi, I was able to buy Double Crisis and pre-order Emerald Break. The general list page showed them sold out, but then when I went to the page, they were available again haha. I had the eBay listing open for Double Crisis that I was going to buy from as well. It was maybe $5 more than what I'd have paid for on AmiAmi, which isn't too bad, I guess (although with slower shipping than the Air Mail I use). xD

I checked AmiAmi this morning before work and preorders were still closed. Checked as soon as I got home and I was able to preorder my 2 boxes as well :D There's only a few ultra rares that I really, really want, and the chances of pulling them are so low that I might just open one box, then buy the cards I want and keep the other box for as long as I can before curiosity gets the better of me (which probably won't be very long: "there could be a Gallade in there!!")

Troll & Toad has them for US$.49, Professor Oak for US$.79, and Collector's Cache for US$2.99.

Not sure if this has been asked already or not (I'm sure it probably has in the 70 pages) but where's the cheapest place to get an English booster box from? Thanks!

Hey just wondering if anyone is interested at all in this card or know anyone who collects gold stars in 1st edition. I have the 1st edition gold star mew in PSA 10 :)

Just sharing this rare card for people to see :)

Are all Japanese boxes 1st edition? Because I just received 3 that I ordered (1 Double Crisis, 1 Phantom Gate and 1 Wild Blaze) and all 3 were 1st edition, even though Wild Blaze came out a year ago...

Nope, there are still unlimited editions made in Japan, though it seems rare to actually find unlimited stuff. The most recent unlimiteds I've personally seen were when I got some Mega Charizard Battle Packs and my X collection packs were unlimited, but the others were all 1st edition.

I have received unlimited packs for
1 of BW3
1 of BW5
BW6 Freeze Bolt - Cold Flare
BW7 - Plasma Gale
BW9 - Megalo Cannon
X Y

I think most collectors want 1st Editions.

Most people generally do want 1st edition stuff, except for the people who are trying to get all versions of X card. I've had a few people come into my trade thread hoping to find unlimited versions of something because they've already bought the 1st edition and they want both.

Promo Cards?

I am a collector and I try to get all promo cards from the current sets (starting with XY base set). I have difficulty in finding them though, especially those league promo cards with the tournament position printed on the card (like pumpkaboo, solrock, avalugg etc) and those other tournament promos (torchic, combusken, honedge etc).

Any advice on that? Bulbapedia has not offered me any information about this and I cna find them nowhere online (ebay, TNT, CC etc).

Are they delayed for some reason and how exactly are they given out and when?

Thanks for answering! :)

They're given out at events. I got Pumpkaboo from a league challenge and Torchic from City Championships. I think you'd need to either attend those leagues yourself or trade with someone who did.

EDIT:
Is this what you're looking for?

Solrock is listed in their Miscellaneous Promos.

Yes i know, as other cards aswell, and I can also find some of them on eBay, but they do not state when they are given out at events and/or when the event are taking place.

For example the event that the torchic was given out was supposed to take place half a year ago but only recently they have started to pop up on eBay (i luckily got both regular and STAFF stamp pretty easy). Same goes for an event that the Combusken was given out.

And since where I live (Greece) there are no Pokemon TCG organized play, I cannot acquire them by attending an event. Only by trading/buying, adn the prices on eBay are outrageously high (for example a ful lset of Pumpkaboos is about 100$ - and it is only one)

Any additional info on how they are distributed? (for example in MTG there is a promo for participating in local tournaments that changes every month)

I cant seem to find the second XY Trainer kit (the one with Wigglytuff) online for sale anywhere =/

Interestingly there are about four of those sets in my local Anime/Card shop. Was there oversupply or something?

Yeah, for some reason, the Wigglytuff/Bisharp trainer kit is stupidly rare in some areas. I've seen people here complaining about not being able to find them, and then I saw a bunch at my parents' local Target when I was visiting them in the States this past Christmas. Even PokemonCenter.com has them listed as "Out of Stock". Via Google, the only websites I found that had some in stock were Aus/NZ, which you probably could order from if they ship internationally and you're desperate.

Yeah my local shops in Aus only seem to stock those trainer kits and the hoenn lunchboxes, guess it varies by region.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to go about collecting English gold star cards. I live in Aus and it's hard finding places to buy from which ship internationally, aren't absurdly expensive and actually have good quality cards in stock.

Gold Star cards can be difficult to find, especially from regular online retailers. You'll have better luck looking to get them from individuals who own the cards, either via auction sites like Ebay or collector's communities, like here. :)
