I'm sorry Rev. :(

Thanks Palutena for fixing this challenge by not killing anybody. :)

yeah :D gotta love olaf
But yeah, the lack of death/elimination is nice, and the next challenge sounds... interesting. I'm not particularly looking forward to an extensive writing challenge though, with so much stuff to do now. But I'll try.

RE: Pain and Suffering: Season 4 - Challenge 15 is over!

Oh yeah I have a bunch of stuff to do as well, I can just type incredibly fast so I should get this challenge done in ~30 minutes if the other challenges are a gauge.

Unless Prof P makes this one challenging.

Challenge 16: Cutthroat Academia

This is another segmented challenge. As well as your final writing challenge. But first, the specifics.

You guys have to construct a research paper of 1800 words on one of the topics that I've chosen for you. You will have two weeks to submit your paper.

But that sounds too easy, doesn't it?

So we're going to bring in something really fun.

An auction!

You each have 5000 points. You may spend your points to either advantage yourself (ie, get a topic of whatever you want, decrease in word count) or disadvantage your opponents (ie. pick a topic for them, increase their word count, etc). I will not tell you how many items there are to bid on, so the auction will end without notice. So make your points last.

And now, your topics. Only two people may share a topic.

Your Three Topics To Choose From
1. Discuss the health benefits of yoga. Are any yoga poses more healthy than others? Are any aspects of Indian culture or Buddhism apparent in yoga?
Written by: (1)(2)

2. Compare the French and American political revolutions in the 1780s. What are the common themes between them? Are there any differences (other than geography and time) between them?
Written by: (1)(2)

3. Analyze at least three Shakespearean plays. What aspects of the English Renaissance appear in his works? Are there any ideas brought up in his plays that challenged the ideology of the period?
Written by: (1)(2)

The two week period to write your paper will not start until after the auction. This means you cannot choose your topic until the auction has finished. At this point, topics are chosen at a first come, first serve basis.

Just a few more things to clarify.

- Each auction will last for 12 hours, or until I get access to stable internet, whichever comes second.
- You will be graded on the same scale as you were on the Fakemon challenge. This means that your paper is only as good, or as bad, as the other five people playing with you.

And lastly, the person who scores the worst (6/6) will be automatically eliminated. The two who score (4/6) and (5/6) will be put up for elimination, and one of them will get eliminated. We will then have our final four.

I will post the first auction item in a little bit. I'll give you some time to digest this info dump.

Also here's your first item.

The first item up for auction is the ability to reduce your word count by 300 word.

The player with the highest bid gets it. You may not pool your points together to buy items.

Quality, not quantity.

It would be more fun to at least put it to 2800 IMO

Anyway, can we PM you our auctions or do we have to put it in the thread?

RE: Pain and Suffering: Season 4 - Challenge 16 is up!

Post in thread.

and the highest I'm willing to put it is at 2400. I'd actually like people to finish it.
