Arceus looked down on the arena, Athena had just surrendered her king in a match against her opponent. Ruk was standing nearby, shaking his head. Arecus turned around, and yelled out to the empty room.
"WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE OUR CHAMPION!"
He floated across, resting on a vortex. "The champion will heal me... Without the champion, the world will cease to exist..."
"Awww, lookie! It's wittle bwaby Arceus all tucked in on his cloud!"
Arceus swiveled his head, "I have neither the time nor patience to deal with you at this time, Darkrai."
Keeper manifested from the shadows at the end of the room. "What interesting abilities this Darkrai gives me. Yet you fear him, why?"
Arceus focused his gaze, "You are neither one of my children nor a child of darkness. How do you resist Darkrai's control?"
Keeper paused. "Child of Darkness, Keeper of Night, can't see the difference." He floated up and levitated nearby Arceus. "And yet I still feel your fear."
"I am not afraid, you pathetic night-child, I am merely mystified."
Keeper had, at this point, created a swing set of dark mist and began swinging on it.
"Enjoy yourself while you can, night-child. Once a winner is crowned, you shall disappear for good.
"Yeah... They already tried killing me once. Didn't work out so well." He shot a wink toward Arceus, and vanished. His voice still echoed through the large room.
"Although, it wouldn't hurt to mess them up a bit anyway. I have some good hiding places in mind for some of there stuff..."
---
"Fall in you two!" Ruk demanded.
Athena and Rev jumped from their seats, Athena falling on her face in the process. Rev chuckled.
"This is it, we're short on time, a winner must be crowned." He created a table of aura in front of him, which solidified, and placed several objects upon it.
"All you need to do is decode this message-"
"Oh, c'mon Ruk! Your other challenges were better than this!"
Ruk and the competitors whipped around, looking where Keeper had just landed.
"Hey Athena! Haven't seen you since you drove a sword through my chest."
Athena shuddered, Rev just stared.
"Oh and Rev3rsor. Having fun?"
"Enough of your quips devil, what business have you here?" Ruk readied his paw to strike, "We both know you stand no chance."
"Keep telling yourself that, Ruk, but I am not here for you. In fact, I'm not here for any of you. I just want to see the old king die. Or, at least, Darkrai does, and I have no argument."
Ruk growled. Keeper moved smoke over the table, and picked up the items Ruk had set on it.
"Oooh, this is good. Too bad you'll have to look for them elsewhere. It's a $1,000,000 fine, or worse, the world's fate on the line, if you're late!"
Ruk barked and lunged for the shadow, but Keeper had vanished.
"Quickly! We must find where he has gone with those pictures!"
