e: but what really constitutes a BAD path? A bad path to me could be a good path to somebody else. And then, does it matter anyway? What if we turn back, and live the rest of our lives in peace, knowing that staying in the cave is better than anything we will face later on in the challenge. Why not do that?

Pretty sure we can all agree that picking a path full of angry giant arachnids is bad.
