I got this:
Keeper grabbed the gun and pointed it at Athena.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way-"
At the last second, Athena used her ninja skills to quickly knock the gun from Keeper's hands. It went flying across the room, leaving Keeper and Athena scuffling around on the floor.
The spectators looked on with awe. These competitors were pathetic. It seemed like they were randomly throwing punches at each other!
Just then, Keeper broke away from the fight, grabbed the gun, and fired.
...Unfortunately, he was holding it backwards. With a final glance toward the sky, he mumbled "It was a good run..."
He turned toward the crowd, blood flowing from his self-inflicted wound. He shouted "God is good everybody! Have a nice day!" Before promptly falling face first on the floor.
(I'm only a little bored.)

Going to spend the rest of the night working on the rules for this next challenge. You guys will like the concept, but I'll need to iron out a few details for this to work out smoothly. Just going to throw the conclusion + next challenge together like I did last time tomorrow.

Oh come on, Athena, it's practically sacreligious to give up now. Everyone in this game has gotta admit that you're the best at the challenges here.

I'm not giving up, but I do have immunity for the next challenge, which is why my total number of cares is approximately equal to zero.

So, I've decided to put off the thing I had planned, but I have another idea that might be fun. :>

Chapter 8 - War - CONCLUSION

Following the rules given to them by Ruk, the group threw two challengers into a makeshift gladiatorial arena for them to fight to the death. The two unlucky victims were Athena and Keeper of Night. Scratch that, only Athena was unlucky; Keeper of Night was a physical specimen and easily the strongest of the competitors. Death was all but certain. Even Athena was cursing her luck.

Keeper of Night wasted not time going for the first blow. With a might swing of his fists, he l attacked Athena. Surprisingly, Athena managed to dodge the hit. Keeper of Night tried for another hit, but he was met with the same result. This carried on for some time with Keeper blindly swinging at the agile Athena.

Furious at the stalemate going on, the challengers threw weapons out in the arena. Knives, swords, and chainsaws were at the gladiators' disposal. Keeper grabbed the chainsaw and rushed at Athena. With little time to react, Athena could only grab a small katana. Backing away from Keeper, Athena was quickly met with the wall of the arena. She was trapped. Athena put the katana in a defensive stance at the furious Keeper. She had no chance now. She would be torn up in no time. Closing her eyes, she hoped for the best.

Feeling something warm running down her hands, Athena opened her eyes to see blood running down the blade. Keeper had run straight into the blade, killing him on impact. The crowd was stunned. They thought that this would be the perfect chance to get rid of the crafty Athena. She had proved today that the brain is far superior to brawn.

Ruk began clapping at the result.

Ruk: "Very well done. Now, I suggest you all get some sleep. Come back here early in the morning for your next challenge."

Tucked under his arm was a fairly large. The group pondered what it could be for, but they decided to ignore it in favor of the much desired sleep.

The group woke up to a severe backache. They had been moved to individual large, metal podiums overnight. The podiums all formed around a checkerboard pattern on the ground. Standing in the middle of the pattern was Ruk. They felt a bit of nostalgia for when they were first gathered to play this game.

Ruk: "Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Reckoning!"

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Remember that really crappy game that the international HGSS gave us instead of game corner? Well, this is basically that.
  • Instead of it being a 5x5 grid, it is now a 9x9 grid.
  • You are to pick a cell by posting the exact grid position. (ex: "I pick cell A1")
  • Each cell contains either a bomb or a certain amount of points. You can receive either 1, 2, 3, or 4 points if it's a good cell. Cells with bombs will divide your score in half. Yes, your score will divide into something like 5.5 if you had 11. FYI before anyone asks, which they would've lel.
  • The numbers (beside / above) each (row / column) will tell you how many bombs and points are in that (row / column). The largest number on the left is the total amount of points, while the number on the right is the total number of bombs. (ex: 13x4 means that there are 13 total points in this row, but also 4 bombs)
  • You must wait for five other people to pick a cell before you can pick again.
  • When you pick the cell you want to reveal, wait for me to posts the results for that cell before someone else picks a cell.
  • I may or may not post the updated grid sometimes. Due to this, it's your job to keep track of the results as well.
  • We will play this out until the 7th at 2:00 AM EST (to compensate for those in later timezones). Even if the entire grid isn't revealed, we will still end it.
  • Top three in points will gain an immunity. If Athena gets immunity, the immunity she earned last challenge will carry over to the next challenge.
