Also Celever, I love that you're using my desktop background as the pic for this challenge. (Totes adorbs.)

Why is HP put into a category if the max HP for all units is the same?

The stat high/med/lows are more akin to stat growths than stat maximums. It's a better way of representing the class as a whole since few people rarely grind their characters up to max everything anyway.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Also, this came up in Skype and elsewhere, so I'll post it here, too.

The post does specifically state that you should create new skills for your classes. You can, instead, choose to use existing skills if you wish, however you will likely incur a creativity penalty for doing so, unless the skill is incredibly super fitting in which case I may be willing to overlook it, but it's still a risk.

If there's a current skill that fits your class, perhaps try to rework it in a way so that it takes inspiration from the current skill but is still something new.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Class Name: Sauropod Mount
Weapons: Bow, Lance
Stats:
- High: HP/Defense/Attack
- Average: Resistance
- Low: Speed/Skill/Magic
- Movement: 4
Skills:
- 1) March - Gives all allies in a 3-block radius +2 Attack.
- 2) Reach - Allows the unit to target units a block further. (This gives normal bows a range of 3, lances a range of 2, etc.)
Special Attributes:
- Freakin' Dinosaurs - A mount of a sauropod gives a longer range for weapons, but really slow movement, leading to less speed in general. A brute class, skill and magic are also very low, while defense, attack, and HP are much higher.
Promotion:
- Pterosaur Rider - As seen separately.
or
- Tyrannosaur Mount - As seen separately.
Physical Description/Uniform:
Sauropod Mounts are heavily armored, both rider and mount, which offers good protection, but limited maneuverability. Riders specifically carry a quiver on their back for easy access to arrows when necessary. They wear a full chain-mail set, covered with a chest-plate, gauntlets, and iron leggings. Their mount wears armor over their front, under their soft stomachs, and up their neck, connecting above the legs, close to the back.
Background Information:
Dinosaurs are mostly extinct, but rumored to still be found in remote locations across the globe. These riders are specifically trained to handle a wide variety of reptiles, and are able to communicate with them much like Wyvern Lords and their mounts can.
Notes on New Creations:
Dinosaurs. Di. No. Saurs.

Class Name: Pterosaur Rider
Weapons: Bow, Tomes
Stats:
- High: Skill/SpeedAttack
- Average: Resistance/HP
- Low: Defense/HP/Magic
- Movement: 8
Skills:
- 1) Primordial Techniques - Allows Dinosaur Mounts to attack using the higher attacking stat. (Classes riding Dinosaurs will always use the higher stat when attacking, therefor using a Tome in this class will always use the Attack stat because it's higher, rather than the Magic stat.)
- 2) Primordial Techniques - Allows Dinosaur Mounts to attack using the higher attacking stat. (Classes riding Dinosaurs will always use the higher stat when attacking, therefor using a Tome in this class will always use the Attack stat because it's higher, rather than the Magic stat.)

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Here's basic outlines for my ideas on classes. Talked to Athena. She said it'd be awesome to get all three turned in.
Class Name: Sauropod Chevalier
Weapons: Bow, Lance
Stats:
- High: HP/Defense/Attack
- Average: Resistance
- Low: Speed/Skill/Magic
- Movement: 4
Skills:
- 1) March (/better name) - Gives all allies in a 3-block radius +2 Attack.
- 2) Reach (/Stretch?) - Allows the unit to target units a block further. (This gives normal bows a range of 3, lances a range of 2, etc.)
Special Attributes:
- Sauropod - A mount of a sauropod gives a longer range for weapons, but heavily slowed movement, leading to less speed in general. A brute class, skill and magic are also very low, while defense, attack, and HP are much higher.
Promotion:
- Pterosaur Rider - As seen separately.

Background Information:
Dinosaurs are were mostly thought to be extinct, but rumors spread that some were still to still be found in remote locations across the globe. In these areas, some were chosen as champions of these magnificent animals. These champions are specifically trained to handle a wide variety of reptiles, and are able to communicate with them much like Wyvern Lords and their mounts can. Sauropod Chevaliers are slow, but steady. Able to take hits and dish them out just as readily.

Dinosaurs. Di. No. Saurs. (>insert actual stuff here<)

Class Name: Pterosaur Rider
Weapons: Bow, Tome
Stats:
- High: Skill/Speed/Attack
- Average: Resistance/HP
- Low: Defense/Magic
- Movement: 8
Skills:
- 1) Flight Pattern - Allows the unit to deal effective damage to flying units.
- 2) Primordial Technique - Allows Dinosaur Mounts to attack using the higher attacking stat. (Classes riding Dinosaurs will always use the higher stat when attacking, therefor using a Tome in this class will always use the Attack stat because it's higher, rather than the Magic stat.)
Special Attributes:
- Pterosaur - Allows the unit to fly across the field.
Promotes From:
- Sauropod Mount - As seen separately.
Physical Description/Uniform:
Unlike their previous class, Pterosaur Riders are swift, agile hunters, leading to high speed, skill, and attack stats. They are also trained to use Tomes, which makes them effective in close and ranged combat. Their armor is light for maximum mobility, consisting solely of chain-mail and helmet (at times) embroidered with their family crest.
Background Information:

Pterosaur Riders are capable of flying fast and far after their prey, wherever they may happen to be. This is the bird chosen as the mount.

Class Name: Tyrannosaur Champion
Weapons: Lance, Axe
Stats:
- High: HP/Defense/Attack/Resistance
- Average: Speed
- Low: Skill/Magic
- Movement: 5
Skills:
- 1) Fast Hunt - Grants Speed +10 during the user's turn.
- 2) Jungle King - Doubles stats gained through pair-up.
Special Attributes:
- Tyranosaur - Literally is just going to eat you and not even think twice. Chomp chomp.
Promotes From:
- Sauropod Mount - As seen separately.
Physical Description/Uniform:
Like their previous class, Tyrannosaur Champions are heavily armored, the mounts themselves being plated from head to tail. The riders wear armor similar to knights, covering their chest, arms, and legs in steel. (6 am, tired, can't fill in.)
Background Information:

These champions are specifically trained to handle a wide variety of reptiles, and are able to communicate with them much like Wyvern Lords and their mounts can. Tyrannosaur Champions are the kings of the jungle, capable of ruling with an iron fist... And a deadly dinosaur that obeys their (most) every command. Though, accidents do happen...

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

There's still about a week left of available time; no need for anyone to rush.

I actually wish I were playing this challenge; I have some cool ideas. :<

It's not our fault they gave us too much time. These long deadlines give people too much lazy room, hence all the modkills for inactivity.
Let's go people, time to pick up the pace.

Well that's not very fair. I do all my best work the night before. >.>

Hence why you finished early...

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Difference between changing the deadline half-way through a challenge and having a shorter deadline to begin with.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

I do think it's too long yes, but not my call. That said, I also recognize that not everyone has tonnes of weekday availability, especially for a creative challenge, and I expect that the weekend will see a lot of work done. I would be happy to judge entries and end this challenge early so long as all entries have been submitted and all teams are happy with the early ending.

I'm not good with ending early. I'm going to be away next week, so if we end early then my team will be automatically eliminated assuming that I move on after this challenge.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Thanks for sharing. :) I certainly don't mind waiting and wouldn't move on if not every team was ready.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Yah I also agree that the challenge shouldn't end early, as my team is taking a more ambitious approach to this challenge.

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

The deadlines have been pretty long thus far because they are a maximum. As soon as all submissions are in, the competition moves on. Since most of the submissions thus far in this competition have been sent in with a few hours before deadline, I thought that continuing with the long deadlines was still necessary. Plus if people didn't have a lot of time I didn't want to invade into their lives too much with this game. Now that more people are dying and there are pretty much only active players left, what do you all think to having shorter challenges from now on?

RE: The Challenge: Season 6 - Challenge 7

Wow, I missed a lot while I was gone.
At least I checked my PMs... way too late ://
I'm glad I'm not doing this challenge since I have no idea of anything about fire emblem .-. I'm not really very good at creating new things to fit into games.
