Actually I'm swamped today and I'm going to be busy over the weekend, too, so I'm going to wait to start until Monday. This challenge will actually require some host/player interaction, so I actually want to be around for it. :p

Naxi and Jabber quickly ran around to complete the scavenger hunt, finishing very soon after each other. They both waited around patiently for Mathas to finish up... though he was nowhere to be found. Eventually, Queen Athena called a halt to the hunt and sent a pair of pages running around the castle to figure out where Mathas had gotten off to. He eventually joined the others in the throne room, his face blushed beet red, but refused to say what had kept him from completing the challenge, muttering something about the nearby forest.

"I hope you all had fun using your brains for the last challenge, since the next one requires a bit more luck than skill," said Queen Athena. "I've called in a favour owed to me by the Elves and one of their mages has created a labyrinth deep in the castle's basements. Thankfully, there's no chance of getting lost, as each room has two doors, and as long as you keep following the doors you will eventually reach an end. Which end you find, of course, determines how well you will do in this round's challenge. Good luck!"

The Final Challenge
Round 5

For this fourth round, challengers will move through a digital labyrinth, selecting which direction they wish to head in. After nine choice, they will end up in a final room...

Instructions:​
  1. Each challenger will be moving through a labyrinth to a final destination. There are multiple destinations that each challenger may reach depending on their choices, and final points will be determined by the rank of the final room each challenger finds themselves in. The ranks of all final rooms have already been randomly predetermined, so it's just a matter of reaching them.
  2. All 3 players start in the same room. You must choose to move "right" or "left" to the next room. Post in this thread in which direction you would like to head. Once all players have moved onto the second room, they will be able to choose "right" or "left" again to move into their third room, etc. and so forth.
  3. Each player will enter nine rooms in total, from the starting room to their final chosen room.
  4. Players can use Scrolls of Summon Magical Assistant (SoSMA) to receive clues to help guide their path to a better destination. Please see the SoSMA section below for more details.
  5. In order to keep the game moving along, there will be a 48 hour deadline to choose your next room. As such, the deadline for choosing your second room is Wednesday, February 15th at 2:00pm Central European Time. This is the same as 1:00pm GMT, 8:00am EST, 5:00am PST, or approximately 48 hours from the time of this post.
  6. So, yes, you may post your direction for your second room immediately after this post is live.
  7. If all players submit their direction choice before the deadline for any given room, I'll open up next room submissions as soon as I'm online and able.
  8. To discourage people from purposefully reaching the same room, all players must be in a different room by the time they reach their fifth room. Players will be forcefully shunted in different directions if they have not willing split up by that point. (Note: due to the nature of the labyrinth, here is still a possibility that some players may still end in the same room)
  9. If there is a player who does not post before the deadline, they will get a one-time grace period and be allowed to submit 2 directional choices at once during the next 48h period. If they miss submitting during the grace period, or miss two deadlines in a row, they will be automatically disqualified from the round and receive -1 point for non-participation.
  10. Once all players have reached their final rooms, or been disqualified, points will be awarded as follows:
    1. The player who reaches the highest ranked room gains 3 points.
    2. The player who reaches the 2nd highest ranked room gains 2 points.
    3. The player who reaches the lowest ranked room gains 1 point.
  11. If any two players end in the same room, they will both receive the higher score.
  12. Total point tallies will be shared at the beginning of the next round and will continue throughout the challenge.
Scroll of Summon Magical Assistant

(Each of you started with a number of Scrolls of Magical Assistant, a magic item that can be used to give you various advantages throughout the game. Each time a new use of the item is revealed, it will be posted about in the Update (like this section here and now), and also added to the OP for easy reference. Please Note: Each Scroll is single use only! Once you use a Scroll for any purpose it is used up and your total number of scrolls goes down by one. If you ever want to know how many scrolls you currently have available at any given point, feel free to ask.)

SoSMA: Which way is best?: At any point past your second room (ie., you must have made at least one choice), you may PM me to use a SoSMA. I will tell you which direction (left or right) has the total highest ranked rooms at the end, or if they are both equal.

Overall Information About The Final Challenge:
  1. The Final Challenge will contain 7 rounds total.
  2. Each round will see competitors competing in a mini-challenge where they will earn a number of points based on their success in that round compared to the other players.
  3. Refusal to participate in a particular round will earn that challenger a negative point.
  4. Once all rounds have been completed, the challenger with the most points will be crowned the winner.
  5. In the event of a tie at the end of the seventh round, an additional round will be played to serve as a tie-breaker between the tied parties.

All 5th rooms reached, and 6th room choices are now open!

As a special for the 5th room, all players may choose to randomize their current position instead of going Right or Left. A randomized spot will place you in any possible 6th floor room. Just pick Random instead of Right or Left.
