And with that, all players have now claimed a class, hurray! \o/ I've also already received submissions from over half of the players, excellent job everyone. :3

As a reminder, the deadline for submitted Character Sheets is this Saturday. If you have any questions, please ask! Otherwise, feel free to chat, discuss, and speculate in thread, if you would like.

If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to use the Watch Thread feature on this thread to make sure that you can stay up to date about announcements. I will always attempt to tag players when appropriate, but tagging doesn't always seem to work, so no promises that it'll notify you.

No, but the more you do, the better chances are that something will notify you. :p

Another option is to follow me, personally. I will post profile comments each time a new challenge is posted, or when results have been compiled.

Done.

Hey everyone, just a reminder that you have 50 hours (approximately 2 days) left to send in your final Character Sheet submissions! Most of you have already done so, but I am still missing submissions from:

@Celever @simsands @Skyleaf2000

Although this challenge is not an elimination challenge, there will still be penalties if you fail to submit on time, and possible rewards for those who perform well.

Sorry that it's taking me so long. DX
I'm almost done, just one last section to fill out: Backstory.
I don't know how I can fit his past into just 250 words. q_q

Maybe if you ask nicely Athena will give you a bigger limit! :3

The word limits are more guidelines than hard-set rules, but if you go too far beyond them, you risk my wrath. You don't need to give us your character's entire life story, just a general outline. Leave some to the imagination. After all, you don't even know all too much about the world of Challesia yet. :p

Hey guys, it's the last day for submissions! You've got about 7 hours left. :p Still missing submissions from:

Unfortunately, we've had our first drop out. Since we haven't even actually split into teams and started the first real challenge yet, I would prefer to see if I can get another player to join in rather than just write simsands out of the game since that will leave one team at a disadvantage. If you're reading along and would be interested in joining, please let me know! If you're already playing, bug your friends to join in. :p

.... wait someone dropped out already? *has popcorn* but that... you didnt even start it.... how does one spectate this?

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS: Important Update!

EDIT: We have a 16th sign-up! So, no more need to vote. Since I already told Skyleaf that I would give her the additional time to complete her character, however, there will still not be a full update until Monday.

We've already lost one of our players before The Challenge has formally started. Although I am still open to the possibility that someone may be able to join in, I don't want to delay the game by waiting for another sign-up, so we may have to continue on with only 15 players. So, I am opening a public vote:

For all contestants, please vote for the option you would like to see:

1) 3 teams of 5 players each.

OR

2) 4 teams with 4 people on 3 team and 1 team with only 3 players, with the smaller team getting a slight advantage

OR

3) Something different??

I'm leaning towards 1 myself, but I figured that it impacts you all more than it impacts me, so I figured I would open it up for discussions. Please post your thoughts and discuss in thread.

I'm leaving the discussion open until 9:00am CET on Monday, December 14th, approximately 35 hours from the time of this post.

Until that time, I will still keep the potential sign-up place open as well. If we get another entry, the problem will become moot. @Skyleaf2000 has also lucked out, in that she gets an extra day and a half to send in her Character Sheet since she still has not done so. :p Skyleaf, you have until the same deadline to finish your character without receiving a penalty.

If you're reading things and thinking of signing up but concerned about having to make a character so quickly, no worries; I can give you the length of the 1st full challenge to complete your character.

I PMed the remaining 3 challengers who hadn't sent in a Sheet yet as a reminder, and simsands sent me a PM back saying that he was going to have to dropout. Dropouts any later in the game than this would simply just be kicked, but since we haven't had teams formed yet even, I figured I would leave things a bit more open for now.

Personally I'm a little unsure. If you're sure all of the challenges you've planned can translate into 5-man teams then that's probably fairer, but I'm not sure how much of a difference not having one player will be. There's always fodder in the team stages anyway, so it's somewhat probable that all of the teams will have 2 or 3 higher level players anyway. A part of me sort of wants to err on the side of caution and actually go for option 2, but I won't exactly be distraught if option 1 is chosen too!

The Team Challenges that I have in mind should work just as well for 5 player teams as they would for 4, etc. Since there's no way to accurately predict how many people will be on a given team past the first challenge, I've tried to leave them open in that respect, though obvious a smaller team would have less flexibility. The larger the team, the more likely you are to have someone who's particular good at a certain team.

That said, I did immediately write-off the possibility of 5 teams with 3 people each since I felt that would be too swingy, but if that's something you guys want too, it's another possibility.
