The Elder Scrolls Discussion

Skyrim can be tricky as far as running it goes. You should try to see if there any beta openings, I heard that they were giving them to practically anyone who applied last time I checked. c:

Of course we are you fetcher! Long Live the Elder Scrolls People.

As for TES:O I will probably buy it and play it cause it's a ES series game and will likely be good. However, like many I am at heart a fan of the single-player "main" games Bethesda makes. (No offense to Zenimax Media). So I am currently more interested and waiting for any rumor of the next TES game after Skyrim. It should be quite amazing given all the hints that "All of Tamriel will be called to arms in the near future" and I cannot wait to add more Thalmor heads to my collection. Long Live the Empires of Men!!!

Man oh man, I definitely can't wait for this thing to come out. I've been an avid fan of TES for about 8 years. I still remember playing Morrowind as an Argonian then becoming a werewolf and owning some stuff.

Then came along Oblivion and I played that game non stop. Constantly just running around and killing stuff and running to get Umbra instantly. Then the infinite level glitch with the jail and the paint brush glitch. Then I got Knights of the Nine, good lord was that some fun gameplay. I spent hours trying to find a Kynareth (I think I spelled it right) shrine only to stumble across one while I was actually taking a break from it and bam, it started up again. Finally getting all the armour and looking like a boss then killing the elf king. (Was a bit disappointed with how easy it was.)

Then good lord, The Shivering Isles needs its own paragraph. That was a masterpiece of an expansion. The powerful looking art. The dynamic characters. (Maniac King anyone?) This is by far my favourite expansion of any game. I still remember finally killing the gatekeeper and walking into Mania and being astounded. The colours were beautiful and the creatures were bizarre. Then the awesome quests that you got. The thing to start the defense of the Isles again. That was by far my favourite and it was hilarious to boot. But my favourite part of the entire thing..
"CHEESE!! Cheese for everyone!! Wait, scratch that, no cheese."

Shivering Isles was a feat for it's time and still holds beautifully now. Yes, the "Manic" side was always my favorite while the "Dementia" side reminded me of a rundown English town during the Black Death which was extremely fitting. As far as armor goes and weapons well Dementia had that one in the bag hands down. Madness Armor and Weapons PWNED.

Dragonborn on Skyrim is the only comparable expansion and it falls short of the magnificence that is the Shivering Isles. Don't get me wrong, Dragonborn was bad as f@#% and added loads of Lore and nostalgia (Especially for Morrowind players) but it lacked the thrill ride of the Shivering Isles. That aside though seeing Neloth in Dragonborn made me piss my pants and while Divath Fyr would of been a bonus idk if one can top the image of Neloth's mushroom towers with the Red Mountain spewing ash in the background. Truly damn epic! @gamefreak I've been a fan for about 11 years now.

Apocrypha was badass.

Well, If you're in PC, you'll always have the mods. And if you feel like it you can get the creation kit and make your own. It's brilliant. Buggy, but brilliant.

It will be 2014-2015 before we see anything about the next TES. Hopefully it happens in Valenwood or Hammerfell. I'd say if they were to really surprise us they would put it in Black Marsh or High Rock.

I know that, but they had to quit making DLC eventually so that the whole dev team can start work on the new game. c:

What about patches for the current games? Skyrim has tons of glitches.

I'm really sorry if this comes across as snotty, I've just had to say this one too many times on the UESP Forums... TES will always have a lot of bugs. In an open world, things interact with each other in ways that would take decades for developers to clear out every bug; and when I say "every bug", I mean just the ones that have been discovered. There are too many possible situations to bugtest in seven lifetimes. It all comes down the fact that TES games aren't like other games. You just can't compare the other games, and that goes for the amount of bugs as well.

You can only hope that TES VI will be more complete. And if you complain about bugs on PC, well, I play on PS3 atm, so you can't say it is not enjoyable.

Very true words. Games like the Elder Scrolls have too many moving parts to always have them work entirely seamlessly.

On another note, I am sure this has been asked before but where do you want the next TES to take place and the story line to be about (Other than the Thalmor being involved, that's almost a given anyway).

What do you mean when you say complete?

Has anyone else seen the playthrough of Skyrim Steam Train did?
So unpolished...

Watched it a few days ago... Don't take advantage of massive, plot skipping, game breaking bugs, kids.
(Also, I now <3 game grumps, just like about 20 other youtubers I <3)
