Sometimes fakers just need a challenge. Perhaps trying out a new mechanic, a new blank or even a new aesthetic. But sometimes, that’s just all a breeze or simply not in your ballpark. So how about a quantity challenge instead? How fast can PB make quality cards? Let’s find out.
Welcome to PB’s Fakers' Marathon! This is a community 7-day event where the entire PB faking community will attempt to make the most image-based cards they possibly can within a single week. Anyone can participate - the text-based to the image-based, the beginners to the advanced! All you need to do is to be a PB member and read the rules below. If you’re new to this faking business and are keen to participate, check out our faking resource thread here.

How this Fakers' Marathon works:
- The aim of this marathon is to make as many cards as possible using appropriate resources and software (see this starter’s guide). These cards can be of any (yes, any) Pokemon (fakemon or official) you like. Duplicate species of Pokemon from different members are allowed. You want to make a Trainer card or an Energy card? We'll even accept those, too!
- Both text-fakers and image-fakers can participate! The text-fakers can provide the spoilers for the image-fakers, by simply posting them in this thread. This is an important job, since it is quicker than the image-fakers designing spoilers themselves.
- Artists are more than welcome to make art for cards!
- To submit cards, simply post them in this thread. For obvious reasons, it is better to bulk post rather than individually post each card. We also ask you to post a link to the card underneath the card image, so it is easier on the host to log.
- The host will be looking over cards to make sure they abide by all rules. They also will count and log each card.
- This marathon begins IMMEDIATELY and will last seven days, ending on Sunday, December 29th at 11:59:59 PM PSD. Here's a handy countdown timer if that's not your time zone.
- Points are scored as follows:
- Text-based - 1 point
- Image-based - 3 points
- Holosheet - +1 point
- Gimmick (GX, Prism Star, Gold Star, LEGEND, etc.) - +2 points
- +2 more points if you create a new gimmick
- Using multiple gimmicks does not give you extra points
- Texture - +2 points
- Custom Blank - +1 point
- Full Art - +1 point
- Own Art - +3 points
Rules:
- All cards must be quality. They should not be scrappily put together. This means the correct fonts, symbols and placements should be used. The host has the right to reject any card if it is not up to standard.
- Players may use any blank, official or custom.
- Card generators of any form are NOT allowed, as this defeats the purpose of this marathon.
- All artwork used must be used with permission from the artist and be credited on the card itself. We have compiled a list of artists that give their permission to use their art here. You're more than welcome to seek other artists and not reserve yourself to the list.
- Cheating the system by submitting replicas of cards that you’ve published online before the marathon has begun is not cool. Same situation with submitting cards that are extremely similar to ones that you’ve already submitted for the marathon. These will not be allowed!
- You may not copy the text from the official cards. Any instances of this will lead to immediate removal of the card(s) and docking of 5 points!
