Collecting The Foreign Booster Box "Pull Rates" Thread

Japanese booster box have better pull rates than English booster boxes and are much cheaper, though you do get less cards overall (only 20 packs and 5 cards per pack, vs. 36 packs of 10(?) cards per pack). English boxes are very bloated.

Was really happy with my pulls. I was surprised that I didn't get a box with 2 ex pulls or 4 ex pulls. From what I've seen on youtube japan/american box openers, I seen that the average was around 3 ex pulls 4 ex pulls was second behind that, and really the least amount was 2 ex pulls. First time opening japanese boxes so it kinda shocked me that you can get so much more with about half the price of an american box, which for me had about a average of 2 to 3 ex pulls. That or all of my booster boxes I've bought weren't great.

This doesn't seem right. Most boxes do not exceed 10 rare cards.
 
I had assumed he was counting the EXes in the total number of "holos". That would be more fitting; most boxes having ten RR or better with a few boxes being under average and a smaller amount being above average.

You're right: on Neo 3 packs you won't find that information. But it is visible on the back of old English packs (a quick Google search should reveal this information). I don't have a physical pack in front of me (although oddly enough I do have Neo 3 packs) that shows the odds.

But to clarify: those odds of a "premium card" refer to the chance that you might pull a Holo Rare. I mentioned it because it refers to the odds such as 1:30 or 1:33 (meaning that a Holo Rare is roughly 1:3 packs). Similarly, the Bulbapedia article refers to the odds of a Neo 3 Shining as 1:300 (this could be interpreted as 1:30 packs). I don't know the intent of the writer nor do I know the facts (or legitimacy of the article) but I am putting the idea out there since it supports what I have seen in person.

EDIT: To answer your question: it is found on the back of old English packs in fine print. It might only be on WoTC prints.

Highly unlikely to be honest. The cards are Ultra Rares. They almost never pop up for sale in Japan, if there were two in each box the market would be flooded with these. Also the price is incredibly high if they weren't that rare.

For comparison, the White Star "Here comes Team Rocket" in the Japanese Rocket set is 1:60 packs (1:64 holos to be exact). The Neo Shinings are Triple Star cards, to show their rarity. They're more rare than White Star cards.
 
Its impossible (assuming no error off course) to pull 5 ultra rares from a Wild Blaze booster box, right? Cause I pulled 4 ultra rares and have 2 remaining packs that I have kept sealed. I've only pulled 9 holos/EXs but I think a sealed pack is nicer than a holo, but not an ultra rare :p

False. At most you can only pull 4 Ultra Rares. One would have to be a Full-Art though. So 3 Ex's and a FA possibly. Or a UR Mega could potentially take the place of the FA. But, from what i've seen if you pull a UR Mega i'm almost positive that you only get a 3 Ultra Rare booster box. On "Average" a 4 Ultra Rare box is about one in every 3 or 4 boxes. I opened 17 Booster boxes of Wild Blaze and 6 of my boxes were 4 Ultra Rare boxes. Between myself and a few of my friends we opened about 100 Wild Blaze Booster Boxes. :)
 
Okay, I think its pretty safe to keep the 2 packs sealed then. Japan don't seam to make to much error with their packing so the chance that it would be a ultra rare is probably very close to 0 :)
 
I got my box of wild blaze today.
10 holos in total
magnezone EX
FA toxicroak EX
mega kangaskahn EX

Was happy a pulled a FA, and its really pretty. The seller sent me a bonus pack and I pulled another magnezone EX! Since I didn't pull any charizards or a meowstic I may try to buy another box.
 
Got my 1st box today contained the standard 10 holos of which I got charizard ex, kangaskhan ex and mega kangaskhan.

4 more boxes tomorrow will update my post then :)

Oh, okay that makes more sense. I thought he said he got the EXs plus an additional 10 holos. At most I've seen (and I've watched a lot of people open boxes...) the most people get are 11 while the average gets 10.
 
Right I dont know what to say I have opened 5 boxes and didn't get one full art I am so gutted. 3 EX'S in each box as expected including mega's but not 1 lovely full art!

Now the good news I did get 2 secret rares!! the mega kangaskhan one and the mega charizard x one. Baring in mind people on YouTube bought a case and got 1 I'm chuffed with that...

But should I be more happy to have 2 secret rare cards or as I'm feeling right now bitter at not getting a single full art :(

You could always trade? Since some people are missing the UR's and they have plenty of extra FA's I bet they'd be willing to give you a few ^^

I think I'd rather get the UR Lizardon then a supporter FA. The only FA I really like is Lizardon. Aaaand I'm using the wrong names again, I can't think when it's late xD
 
Yeah, trading will be your best ticket, I believe, Stu. The Gold Bordered UR seem significantly more rare, so you could get a lot of trading credit offering those for some FAs. :) If I were in your place, that's what I would do; the FA cards are so much cooler.
 
Opened a Wild Blaze box (my first ever Japanese box!) and I think I'm switching to collecting Japanese cards!
I pulled -
Holos: Goodra, Shiftry, Milotic, Heliolisk, Meowstic, Carbink, Druddigon
EXs: M Charizard EX (55), Kangaskan EX, and M Charizard EX (89)

Sadly, traded the 55 Charizard away, and then decided that I might collect Japanese cards... /:
I was so happy that I'm buying 2 more boxes to see how they go! Will update when I've opened them :) Which should be later in April

2 URs is pretty good. Most will open 20 boxes for just 1. You opened 5 and got 2. That's pretty dope. Weird that the other 3 boxes didn't have 1 SR at least. Can't get too lucky maybe?
 
On reflection I am proper happy with the 2 UR imagine if I got 2 full arts instead but both were trainers I'd of been wishing for a UR and I have 2! That's how I've talked myself into being happy haha

I'm thinking if I can sell some near complete common uncommon and holo sets on ebay with an ex thrown in, I may by 1 or 2 more boxes when they are in stock to try and pull one full art!

My theory on the 2 UR if they are one per case is maybe because I got 4 boxes in that order (5th box different order) maybe I had say box 18 19 20 from one case then got the lucky random box from a second case to make up my order. If that's the case I truly am a lucky son of a gun I guess :)

I was curious what the real pull rates for XY2 are, so I watched wakeruncollapse's openings on youtube. He opened a sealed case of 20 boxes.
