The Hunger Games

Are there trailers up for it yet?

Ya, it is as good, if not better than the Harry Potter series.

I loved the first and second book of the Hunger Games. Suspenseful, filled with action, really good. The third book, to me, was a disappointment, since I felt as if the book was too sad, the parts between the action were too long, and a few other things.

As for the movie, I'm not sure what to think about it. Nearly every book that became a movie (note the "nearly") ended up being really bad. I'm hoping that the Hunger Games don't get screwed up.

Ya. I hope they don't mess up like Avatar Last Airbender did. I'll be really mad. When does it come out again? Us there an exact day?

I heard that it's coming out March 2012. I'm not exactly sure but someone at my school told me.

The series was great. But I have to agree with SA, I hated the ending. (Though it's probably because I hated Peeta so much and was so disappointed that Gale never came back to see her again.) I really hope that the movie gets really into everything, and we really get Katnisse's emotions, just like we did in the book. I will definitively be seeing it when it comes out.

TEAM GALE FOREVAH!!!!
...(oh crap, I said it)
I read all three books, and all three were equally amazing. I think Peeta should go drown himself, but since he has all the darn fangirls, and Gale gets NOTHING, Miss Collins just HAD to keep him alive and....I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read Mockingjay, but honestly, there were SO MANY parts in Mockingjay that made me want to throw the book into the nearest toilet, or at some Peeta fangirl's face. DISAPPOINT. Unless you are a fan of Peeta, then you'll jump for joy, but for Gale fangirls like me, I was very disappointed.

Still my favorite book series, next to Warriors and the Uglies "Trilogy"

Suzanne Collins is writing the script for the movie. I just hope they don't make the fight scenes all watered down and kiddy and boring. Hoping for a PG-13 rating. I also really wanted Robert Downey Jr. to play the role of Haymitch in the movie, but their pick was okay. I still would have picked Robert Downey Jr. though. Other than that, Gale isn't very good, Katniss is okay, Peeta is going to be the Edward Cullen of good entertainment... ugh. Peeta.

Oh, please don't let this turn into the next Twilight. Please. When I say I have read the Hunger Games, people normally respond: "Cool! What was your favorite book and why?" or something like that. Once the movies come out, when I say I read the Hunger Games, I don't want people responding: "TEAM GALE OR TEAM PEETA?"

And also, I just started to read Mockingjay for the first time. Can't wait to finish it.

And in Science class once, I named my mealworm Beetee after the guy in Catching Fire. I'm not entirely sure why, but I did.

Geez, mellow down Robot, it was only a joke. But i do consider myself a crazy Gale fangirl. ^-^

I really liked Beetee.

I love The Hunger Games. I really hope that they don't mess up the movie.

About Mockingjay's ending- I didn't like it. It worked too hard to prove an anti-war point, and it was unsatisfying. Talking about anti-war things during a book is fine, but writing an ending that pushes views is just bad. Don't leave your readers with a mediocre ending.

I'll give my honest opinion of the Hunger Games cast.

First, off is Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen... To be truthful, she looks too feminine for Katniss. I would have rather had Bridgit Mendler play her as she just seems more like Katniss to me, plus it would give her a chance to break from her "Disney shell" and go into real acting.

Josh Hutcherson... as Peeta. Josh Hutcherson? Seriously? Honestly, Alex Pettyfer should have been Peeta Mellark rather than Mr. Hutcherson. Peeta was never described to have such a masculine face.

Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket will be fine. She's not important enough to worry about.

I have no objections to Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, however, I would have liked, yes, Taylor Lautner as Gale since I kind of always imagined Gale as Lautner, but it'll have to do.

Haymitch should have been Hugh Laurie. Period.

Good choice as far as Caesar goes.

I love the choice they made for President Snow, he looks perfect. Just shave the beard.

Prim makes me want to vomit in my sleep and drown in it. Pluck the mono brow or I don't see the movie at all. Thank God she's only going to be in the beginning.

And that's all I have the want-to to review for now. Hope you agree. :)

The ending felt like Suzanne Collins was trolling us. Or she'd had help from M. Night Shyamalan writing it. Major FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU moment.
I'd imagined Haymitch as Dr. House...

I threw the book against the wall because I felt cheated. I mean seriously. I wasted around a month reading those things and I got to that cruddy ending. I just couldn't wrap my mind around that whole "Hunger Games for the Capitol children" thing. I mean, come on Katniss! You had to go through that, why would you make kids that had nothing to do with the original Hunger Games go through it?

Kill Coin, kill Snow, just don't be absurd.

This is how the ending is described.

Katniss didn't want romance with Gale or Peeta. Katniss kind of just gave up fighting at the end, she decided that everything she wanted wasn't going to happen. She wanted to be alone and just to be good friends with both Gale and Peeta, she never wanted to have to be with one forever.

I read the first two, but never got around to reading the last one. I didn't know there was a movie coming out though!

Honestly, I would have been happier if everyone died in some cataclysmic nuclear war. It would have been more ending-worthy to me.
