The last airbender...

Awesome effects and fight scenes? There was like 20 earthbenders doing 15 seconds of bending... to throw a pebble :X

I read reveiws. It sucked. The original series was much better. Anouther cartoon ruined by hollywood.

I love the original series and I thought the movie was so so. It was a disappointment when I found out the Kiyoshi warriors were taken out because the director liked them too much. I mean, I don't think any movie can ever copy a series exactly otherwise the movie would take like 4 hours to finish. But the names were changed because Night is asian and he wanted them to be pronounced the correct way. (Not the american way. I know it's weird, but that's what he said on a Nickelodeon in the making of the move episode thing....) I thought the fight scenes were equally matched up to the series because Aang is still new to this, and does not know anything but Air and Water. The next movie will be more entertaining though. You have to remember that they are on an adventure, traveling the world to train. Not show you their mighty gifted powers. =)

@Gliscor, he did watch the series. It's what inspired him. He said he watched it over and over again with his family. Unless he lied.... Then idk. XP

I think we finally know why Jasper never says anything in the Twilight saga.

Ummm, getting back to the subject, I think Shaymalan never should have made any movies after 6th Sense. He never would match the success of it and he now ends up being slaughtered because his movie was bad. From what I can tell, this movie is the worst movie of the past year (or further).

That's what pretty much every review was. I was going to see it but then my stepfather read the reviews and it sorta just went out of our radar.

I'm with you.the movie was horible...I mean iwatched the cartoon (every episode)and it was nothing like the movie!

i'm still will go see the movie. just for the fun. it didn't came out yet in my country... not even in europe i think....

Not for nothing but the movie followed the tv show decently well. Granted they left out some of the filler parts but it wasn't like they strayed off course. In a 2 hour span I think they fit everything they could into movie. Do I think that they should have stretched the movie out longer in order to stay more faithful to the story, yes, but even still.

My main problem with the movie was that I paid extra to watch it in 3D, but nothing was 3D baring the back of his head. The visual effects of the bending would have been astounding had it not been expected to be 3D (which it wasn't, and disappointingly so).

I can promise you I will not be wasting 10-12 dollars on this extremely overrated movie. I'm reading terrible reviews left and right. Toy Story 3 ftw! ^_^

Also this is a bit unrelated but when I did go see Toy Story 3 I noticed that some people saw a promotional movie poster at the theater for Avatar: The Last Airbender from before it was changed to just The Last Airbender, and assumed it was an James Cameron Avatar sequel.

In a nutshell, stupidity humors me.

I was expecting the movie to be really good but, ended up on pokebeach on my phone trading during the movie.

I thought the story was okay. But it really was horrible. They made Sokka and Aang too dark. Sokka is supposed to be cracking jokes throughout the whole movie. Aang is supposed to be in love with Katara and being funny throughout the whole movie. Sokka was too, "I MUST PROTECT MY SISTER!!!" and Aang smiled like twice the whole movie.

the only good thing I can say is that the effects were awesome. everything else sucked.

I was about to go see this movie because everyone was cheering, "This movie is going to be the best one ever!" until I haven't heard ONE good review out of a hundred people.
