What Do You Think Will Be The Next Big Engine?

Yeah but Staraptor FB Lv. X isn't in Rising Rivals though, so If you're stuck using the English cards after rotation depending If GE gets the boot then Uxie and Volkner's Philosophy will probably be the engine's to run, Uxie definitely...

Personally I think Volkner's is slow as it doesn't save you a Supporter a turn hence being a Supporter itself. 1 discard and draw up to 6 is good but there's better cards like Cynthia's Feelings and Looker's Investigation.

It's like Modified might resort back to the way it was when Steven's Advice and Professor Birch were still Modified legal hindering Pokemon draw engine's due to the possible abuse of Power Sprays in Pokemon-SP decks.

Hmm... quite a tough call, I must say...

I agree that rotating GE out of the format would be bad for the following reasons:

-Loss of Unown G to prevent Machamp donks
-Uxie and Uxie Lv. X might be needed more in decks. The prices for Uxie on eBay are sickening ($20 to $30; enough to buy a Lv. X). I only have 1 Uxie and am not going to buy any more, no matter how much decks would need it if the rotation came and rotated GE out.
-Power Spray disrupts Uxie setups. Against Claydol, it stops the power for one turn, but against Uxie, it turns it into a wasted bench space, at least temporarily.

If GE is rotated out, I am not really sure what would be the next big support Pokemon. I don't think Staraptor FB Lv. X is it, because while it can search for supporters, Cyrus does that already for SP decks. You can't play the supporter, but it thins the deck out and gets other cards that are useful.

I am not all that impressed with Volkner's Philosophy. It is just a Professor Birch with an optional discard to it. If a player is really starving for cards, chances are, the discard will make them give up an important card if they choose to go with the discard. 6 cards doesn't really go very far, and it uses up a supporter use that could be used for a Bebe's Search or a Cyrus instead.

There are two cards that do have some promise; SP Radar and VS Seeker. SP Radar is nice, because you can get it with Cyrus, can get SP Lv. X, and doesn't count as a supporter. VS Seeker is great, because it boosts the usefulness of each supporter card in the deck.

We have Uxie, why care about other engines. Dodrio does look like an interesting deck though (4-4 Dodrio + 2-2 Weavile could be funny). But I think people will play Call and an extra starter or TM TS-1 and some Uxies/Azelfs.

He meant Dodrio as a drawing engine.:(

Staraptor FB Lv.X is coming out in PotF.....it may even be out for Worlds XD

It's the Augest set, that's all we know :p

Back on topic, I think 3 Uxie + 1 Uxie Lv X will become the main ''engines'' for decks, possibly combined with Staraptor FB Lv X. That is IF Claydol gets rotated out.
