The Official Set Rotation Topic - (DP-on)

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

Yes, LA-on is very unlikely, but it is at least oh-so slightly more viable than SF-on.

As for MD-on, I still think could do this because PUI's top priority is the money, not the metagame. However, if we do have a sucky metagame (coughMacheapdominationcough) they could lose some sales. If they realize this, than MD-on could be out as well.

As for personal opinions, either no rotation or GE-on would be fine with me. Heck, even SW-on would be OK for me, but it most likely won't happen.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

That post did not sum it up. He said MD-on couldn't happen because their dp4 is our DP4/DP5, then GE-on couldn't happen also. Their DP3 and DP4 is our DP3, DP4 and DP5. Some DP4 cards are in SW and some DP3 cards are in GE. So GE-on is just a plausible as MD-on.

Either way, people, please realise now that it is going to be SF-on. Except for all the reasons I mentioned, PL-on is not really plausible, this and next season because of one fact. Platinum contains cards of DP6 (or IFDS).

Dude, It's not going to be SF-On, it's going to be GE-On or no rotation.

If it was SF-On Machamp would still be in, Unknown G would be out, Both Cladyol and Uxie would be out, Speedrill would be out (Leaving Flygon to own,) and there would be way to little sets to get, therefor making PUSA lose moeny. GE is going to stay, if it doesn't ALOT of people will quit.

Now, the way I see it, LA-On is pretty much impossible. That would mean a rotation of 5 sets first and then one of 2 sets. Are ye nuts to think that?
So that leaves GE-On and MD-On. Quite frankly, I think PUI would see that GE is too important right now to remove, so they'd probably keep it in. I'd think its a shame to see SW go (Gardevoir :() but eh.

Yeah especially Flygon RR, wait and see it's Lv. X drop severely in price cause without Weavile SW Flygon RR has no chance of being as consistent as it is now.

I do agree that GE is too important to remove with Unown G and without it SP decks are gonna get donked like crazy against Machamp SF.

He's right, the format is either gonna be GE-On, MD-On, or No Rotation. Stormfront-On would infact kill the game and everyone would quit Pokemon I'm dead serious.

Leaving out Legends Awakened is a no-go when it was just recently released last year or a few months ago. What's that you got 3-4 Uxie's? SF-On? Now you can't play them anymore unless it's Unlimited Sanctioned. Epic fail...

It's not gonna happen, ze-draeck you need to get your head out of your butt and realize the truth. How do you expect POP/PUI to make money If SF-On becomes the new format? Especially when you consider the lack of popular TCG's in today's secondary market due to a bad worldwide economy.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

I don't think they'll rotate out part of our DP1-5 without rotating all of it, since they are trying to keep the whole world on the same rotation right now. I'm not sure, but if they are trying to keep it the same everywhere then there would be a problem since most of our DP1-5 sets are scrambled somewhat compared to Japanese sets. So I think it would either be no rotation, or LA on. I'm hoping for no rotation.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

If they it PL on and then kept POP8 it would work because candy would still be around, then make a POP10 with prevolutions, important unowns and MAYBE claydol+baltoy+uxie. It would be funny to just ubberly inconsistent decks everyone would prolly run SPs if POP8 was rotated, it would be like just BaseSet or something, which quite frankly I thought was fun.I'd bet my money on GE-on though.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

I think it will be GE on, although I would LOVE to see the end of Claydol! Someone said in another thread, they just put out a Porygon Z promo, if they rotate out GE then the promo is useless. POP 8 will most likely stay, so that lets us keep Roseanne's and Rare Candy. I guess we will soon find out for sure. I am sure there will be some rotation, if they don't the card pool would be too huge.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

At least it's a better than just 3 sets for a card pool from a horrible format as Stormfront-On would be.

GeChamp would of still see some play but it would of also lost Claydol and Uxie for draw power, Flygon would be a dead archetype, Dusknoir would also be roaming the format since Unown G would be gone, and almost everyone would end up running G Decks and/or SP decks.

The announcement should be made before U.S. Nationals this year and Battle Roads have just recently concluded so I'm hoping we'll find out before September what the new format will be.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

People, please get that false hope ut of your system now. SF-on = future.

Lolwut? There's still two more weekends of them. >__>

dmaster out.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

SF on? Are you kidding me? I highly doubt that 6 sets will be rotated. Legends Awakened has only been out about a year, there is NO way it will be dropped already.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

I'm thinking crazy here, but I'm thinking PL-on

At first glance, its MINDBOGGLING stupid for someone to suggest it. xD T_T

But, SP is POP's baby, and they make money off of their SP cards. If they want their baby to suceed, they have to eliminate the biggest enemy: Machamp.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

Or we make it GE-on, thus keeping Unown G, which allows SPs to get around Macheap. This also allows for a much better choice of cards and won't make it to the point where you are forced to run SP.

Also, they aren't going to eliminate sets that are still selling. That hurts their profits.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

Are you kidding me???? That would mean that if the release schedule is similar to last years, we will get another set right around Worlds, so then after rotation we would only have 3 legal sets. That would never happen!

Fixed.

Like I said and Blue Thunder restated, they would just go to a new set block. Look at last year's rotation. Proof that they will go to a new set block.

And lose Uxie? I'll quit if that happens (not really, I spent too much money on packs.) For MD-on, I don't think Machamp would do that well without a Claydol support. 3-1 Uxie was something I never have preferred.

I'm hoping for GE-on because of Claydol, Unown G, and Honchkrow PotF would practically dominate. Most players would run Uxie in their decks, and maybe Dodrio. Then if you run Honchkrow with SP's, you can dish out massive damage while Power Spraying your opponent's Pokemon that has powers. By that time, SP's may be more popular. And Honcho has resistance to the Champ. If it were MD-on, Honchkrow would do too well due to more Uxie being played.

I just realized how good that deck is.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

I'm pretty sure Honchkrow does extra damage for each basic your opponent has in play, not you.

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

I'm hoping for MD-on, LA-on, or SF-on, since I'm trading away all my Claydols. :D

RE: The Official Set Rotation Topic - What sets will be dropped?

^^^ well I hope you don't get disappointed you eager beaver hoping to get some easy lvX's and uxie's. I recently invested in my promogon z deck, so I obviously hope it is GE-on since my whole deck is basically GE...

I still think Macheap would dominate. Without Unown G, all SP decks would be required to run Toxitank in their decks...unless they want an auto-loss. Also, I don't see Honchy dominating. 80 for 3...max? I don't see that taking over. But either way, most agree the format would take a turn for the worst without GE.

On another note, I found that format rotations have been announced on June 4th and June 6th in the past two years. Based on that, I think we'll probably find out the new format in a week or less.
