The Player Search System
The Player Search System (PSS) is a new feature in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that uses WiFi and local wireless connections to connect with other players both nearby and around the world. This not only enables you to interact with friends and acquaintances, but also with players you've never met before. The PSS is easily accessible on the bottom screen of the Nintendo 3DS, meaning you can use its features without traveling all the way to a Pokémon Center! This thread is a guide for the many possibilities the PSS offers, as well as a place for the community to discuss the system and to ask moderators or other members for help. Battle

O-Power
| This is a new feature that gives players the ability to have special in-game effects that are similar to the previous Pass Powers. You're able to use the O-power on yourself and other players through wireless connections. If nearby players are using an O-Power, it will be indicated on your PSS, and it will allow you to benefit from the same effects! Energy is required to use this feature, but it is currently not known how to obtain Energy. |

Profile
| On your PSS Profile, you're able to add your own personal message, favorite Pokémon, history, location, and more. You can add information to share it with your contacts! |
GTS
| The GTS allows players from all over the world to trade Pokémon with each other. You can offer a Pokémon and select which Pokémon you want in return. You can also search for players who offer the Pokémon you're looking for! Unlike previous versions, the GTS in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y allows you to search for Pokémon you haven't yet encountered in the game. |
Battle Spot
| This new feature allows players to have random battles with each other online. You have the option to choose between having a Free or Ranked Match. Nintendo has announced that disconnecting during these battles will count as a loss on your record! |
Holo Caster
| With the Holo Caster, players can access the Global Link News. In addition, players can use this feature to stay in touch with various characters from the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y storyline! |
Wonder Trade
| This new feature allows players to trade their Pokémon to another trainer chosen at random. This way, you don't know which Pokémon you get in return! |
Shout Out
| Players are able to type a message that will be displayed to the people they're connected with. This can help while searching for players to enjoy the various available activities with! |
Favorites List
| This feature allows you to easily find people you often contact through PSS. It saves you from having to go through your entire contact list before finding someone to battle, trade, or chat with! |
Game Sync
| You can synchronise your game with your Global Link Account. This allows you to transfer Poké Miles, which you can use to obtain a variety of items. |
