BW/BW2 The Simple 5th Gen VG Questions and Answers Thread

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

How do you get on to Dream World and the HighLink?

By sending your Pokemon using the Game Sync option in the C Gear.
Then, you can use the Dream smoke obtained from Musharna and sync up your game with the Pokemon Global Link account.
Google for the official website.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

does b/w actuelly look 3d or do you have to have the 3ds. and I very much want to know what is the difference between b/w and d/p other than the 5th generation.does the 3ds acuretly show 3d.does b/w have any gym

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

JC2, B/W does do pseudo-3d. Obviously it won't do in-your-face 3D, but if you remember where the camera used to pan-up to see a giant building in DPPt, it is the same thing. The primary difference is that there are new Pokemon and what not... that's about it. Stuff has been moved around (Pokemon Center -> C-Gear, Pedometer -> Dream World, etc). The wifi can now do online battles, and there are many new trading features as well. Now, you can ensure that you aren't getting ripped off on the GTS :). There are many small changes, but those are the big ones. A few functions such as sleep changed, but a casual will not notice them. Yes there are gyms. I cannot answer the questions about 3DS because NOBODY IN THE PUBLIC EYE HAS ONE YET. Please think before you post a little bit...

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

I already answered your question, JC2. Thanks for lengthening it, Zero. And, yes, Black and White has the usual 8 GYMs.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

You do it in the Wifi area. It should be one of the first options... it will be labeled "Ruandomu" as I recall... it is in Katakana so you should find it easily. Go to the top right girl in the Pokemon Center. Click the random option and then find your battle option. It is just really obvious from there (connect to wifi, wait for opponent, etc).

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

@Zero
I am so confused, sorry, can you please explain it step by step. I still don't get the katakana thing. :(

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Why do you have the game if you cannot read Katakana? -_-

Go to the girl on the top right of the pokemon center. She should have a list of options, with one saying "Ruandomu" in KAtakana. It should be the first option. The the next menu should be which type of battle you want to do (all except like 2 in Katakana... should go single-double-triple-rotation-shooter). Choose which battle you want and wait to find an opponent, and then battle.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

@Zero
Thanks I understand now, btw zero I actually beaten the whole game without using any cheating device, walkthrough, etc. Its just the wifi stuff that gets me confused, can't wait to the english version comes out. :)

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

how do you change the game to the english language?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

You don't change it right now. That is why it is released months earlier in Japan than in America. They're Romanizing the game. For example, if you look at any fan dub, you're going to see some things that don't make sense. The dev team is translating it into American concepts.

Just an example, "Watashi wa bangohan o tabemasu" in Japanese means "I eat dinner", but when literally translated by... google translator, it will come out as "I dinner eat". We don't want that in an English game :O

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

I got a shiny zubat of the GTS in black and white version and evolved it into shiny golbat, but how do you evolve it into crobat? I know you half to raise its happiness, but how can you do this in black and white, and are there different methods of doing this in gen V?

Thanks :)

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

To raise your Golbat's happiness, give it a soothe bell and keep it in your party.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

If you keep your Golbat in your party and walk around, its happiness will rise. Also, raising its level, giving Golbat certain happiness-raising berries, and feeding Golbat vitamins will make him happier. A Pokemon Fan Club lady in Shippou City can check on the bat's happiness. The Soothe Bell will increase happiness gained.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

When Surf is used in a Triple battle, does it hit all targets at once like in PBR? Or does it hit one Pokemon at a time like in the 4th Gen games?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Is it bad to have a pokemon team were all of the pokemon are the same type, for example all water type pokemon. If so would it make it better if they are dual type with water, like water-ground, etc. Would it also help if you taught them a varity of different type moves? Because I like just training and using water type pokemon.

If I posted this in the wrong section of the forums, very sorry, because I really don't know were to post this. :) So mods please don't give me a warning. Since this is a question/answer thread I thought I would just post it here.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

^You want balance and strategy to your teams. Having 1 type without strategy is just stupid. I've seen mono/dual-type Sandstorm teams. If you do not have a central strategy, you should at least balance out stuff. Have many types to counter other types. After playing online a few times, I've seen a lot of mono/dual type teams (primarily Sandstorm and Sunny Day). Either play strategy or play balanced.
