BW/BW2 The Simple 5th Gen VG Questions and Answers Thread

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Thank you so much for once again explaining my reasoning for me. You have saved me so much time in the long run like you wouldn't believe.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Leavanny has a bad movepool, outside of xscissor and leafblade. Its too frail to sdance or use agility so whats else? Return? I liks it but its bad out of the sun.
Unfezant is horrible. I waited for braviary. So many better options.

We get it. They both are bad later on. Lets move on please.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

For the battle subway, what is another good partner for hydreigon and braviary?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Your pushing too hard on that topic DNA...I suggest dropping it before people start raging.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

I dropped it a long time ago. What on earth are you two talking about?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

DNA did drop the topic...someone else posted after that so I just quoted what DNA said.

@frostwind
Maybe Heatran? You are better off with different Pokemon do begin with...

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Well then a partner for hydreigon? What's wrong with it and braviary

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Braviary isn't very good...if you want a good Dragon or Flying type, go with Garchomp or Salamence (or Dragonite if you have one with Multiscale). If you choose Garchomp, an excellent partner would be Tyranitar, to set up sandstorm and Stealth Rock. Salamence can work with almost anyone, but Heatran would be good. Takes 1/4 damage from Ice, and if you are worried about an incoming Earthquake, swap to Salamence to avoid it and reduce their Attack with Intimidate. As a third parter...try out Jellicent. It has pretty good defenses and an immunity to Water, Fighting, and Normal (such as Fake Out and Rapid Spin), plus high HP. It also has access to a few good crippling moves, like Will-o-Wisp. Through breeding, it can also learn Recover, great for something with such high HP. As a bonus, Jellicent can also learn Energy Ball :)3). Covers other Water types that may pose a problem (such as Swampert or Quagsire).

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Question: I just recently got white version and I'm wondering what you all think is a pretty good fire type to use as part of my in game team?

I was thinking maybe Volcarona or Simisear. Or maybe get an Emboar? I'm not sure cause im a 5th gen nub right now. :p

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Volcarona is an absolute beast. The problem is, you wont be able to catch the high level one until after you beat the elite four for the first time (over half of the game) and the only other way to get it is an egg before the ice gym. If you do get the egg and patiently train it (like I did) you can have a volcarona with Quiver dance for the elite four.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

I have a question about 5th generation move breeding. Is there a way for me to breed a move that isn't on a pokemon's generation 5 move list but was one of it's moves in generation 4 (ex. Stealth Rock for Hippowdon) in my Pokemon White game? Or is the only option to breed it in a Gen 4 game and then transfer it over as is to Gen 5?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Actually, attacks that could be learned as TMs in Generation IV (but not in Generation V) have been adjusted to be learned as egg moves.

Basically, egg moves replaced the missing TMs.

So yes, Hippowdon can only learn Stealth Rock through breeding now.

Is it beast enough to withstand most of it's weaknesses nicely?

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Well, not rock. But in general yes, and with quiver dance boosts it can take almost any special moves no sweat, even water types.

Darmanitan is a literal powerhouse. You can get it fairly early as well. Chandelure is not half bad as well. It's got a good dual typing, although I've found it's frailer than most other Pokemon (maybe just because I still have a Lampent :p). You also have to wait a while to get it if you don't trade, so fair warning.

dmaster out.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Does anybody know why you can put hacked Pokemon on the GTS, but can't trade them? (I can give of example)

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Question.. I have Black... friend has white... we do the link thing so we can visit each others cities so that friend in White can find "new" pokemon to trade me that I cant find in Black... thing is... all he ever finds in his forest are gastly, magby, seedot, shinx, and slakoth.... we have read and read guides about taking to the ppl in each others cities... they keep saying to talk to ppl and they will migrate over to each others cities and the baby forms of the trainers will appear in white forest... i have the chic with the Blissey in my black city but NO happiny in showing up in white forest... and no ponds either for water pokemon.... am getting very fed up with it and no luck on GTS cause everyone trading pokemon that i want are asking for legendaries for simple pokemon which is mind boggling and to be honest extremely greedy !!! I would have traded over my pokemon from Diamond except I cant find my diamond so I am stuck looking on GTS or go without some of my fave's. Any help with getting the trainers to change or what we are doing wrong... thanks
