Should the "Baby" Pokemon of HS block be evolveable?

I was looking at my Tyrogue card from HeartGold & SoulSilver the other day, and I came to a realisation: nowhere on this card does it say I can evolve it into my Hitmontop card! The "Baby Evolution" Poke-Power has been replaced with the "Sweet Sleeping Face" Poke-Body, essentially eliminating Tyrogue's ability to evolve in the TCG. So there are two solutions to the problem; either don't allow the five "baby" Pokemon to evolve during gameplay, which is a problem since we all know that Tyrogue should evolve into the Hitmon family, Smoochum should evolve into Jynx etc.; or memorise which basic each baby evolves into, which causes complications for players new to the TCG. Either way, there's problems.

Thank you for your time.

I never liked the "Baby Evolution" thing, neither was I a fan of cards getting extra perks when a card "Had Budew/Mime Jr." under them, it was just too annoying to use and none of those cards ended up being too useful anyway.

I think the "Sweet Sleeping Face" is the best thing for the Baby Pokémon, it's not like anything with 30 HP is going to have a huge impact on the format no matter if it can evolve or not.

Or just deal with it? They know people will be upset by not being able to get those 30 HP Basics off their Bench; that's why they gave them good Poke-Bodies and great attacks. It makes up for not being able to evolve them.

As pointed out, the babies weren't used much anyway (not even Mime Jr. for Mr. Mime MT), so maybe this is their way of making them more useful.

Very good realization. I didn't notice that 'til now. I mean, they're still bad, and I preferred the Baby Evolution thing they did back in Neo, but it still doesn't matter.

I like the babies now. They got some cool attacks, and they're great stall cards. But, they do take up space on the bench, which only SSU could solve. The only problem with that is the waste of a SSU. So maybe they are great cards, but how can you hate them? They're too cute! Except Tyrogue...(Shudders)

Either way, you can't evolve them, so don't try too.

the only useful one is pichu for my pikachu mt, other then that baby pokemon r useless, even if they make them invincible on a coin flip. cya

They should have been evolve-able, in my opinion.
They DO evolve in the game and they're all very much bound to die if they are left on the field. There wasn't really any point in not having the ability to do so.

neo babies were the only possible playable solution. and they were TOO playable.

Hoppip would like a word with you.

They could've just made them evolve like the Neo babies did while keeping Sweet Sleeping Face, but eh, we'll live with this. Its a pity but could've been worse.

Gyarados would like a word with you.

I liked having those babies evolve, but it's not like I even use them to start anyways. Could've been worse I guess.

What I meant by my statement was that it didn't matter if the babies could evolve or not, all of their evolution lines in HS were too weak anyway so allowing them to evolve wouldn't have an impact. Hoppipp and Magikarp are only needed to play Jumpluff and Gyarados, the impact is made by the highest stage of the line, not the basic. (Unless Memory Berry is a factor)
