The Student Lounge Thread

I don't know about the situation in America or England, but i can tell you something about school in Germany.

I attend the 10th Grade here. School is pretty boring over here. One positive aspect is, that there is a chance of learning something interesting like the structure of atoms or classic literature. But the majority of time i spend in school consists of boredom. Attending school is also listening to the newest stories about what's going on in teenie heaven, from ultra-boring lovestories to conversations with the last bit of logic and sense extracted....

Bullying is not such a big topic over here. It's more popular among kids attending elementary school and 5th to 7th grades.

Now i'm looking forward to the final history exam on Monday. Topic is the Nazi-Regime under Hitler, from problems in the Weimarer republic to the holocaust and World War II. But i'm really convinced that i will manage that.

^Do you students in Germany have the option to take English as a second-language? I took German in 8th grade and we watched these ridiculous videos about life in Germany (back in like 1970). One scene was them in school taking an English class.

You watched about life in which Germany?
English isn't optional as a second-language. I've confronted it as far as i reached 3rd grade.

2nd day of no School! I have to do a ton of summer reading comprehension and analysis... :(

7 days, 2 exams, 2 tests.

My Math grade is an A, and that won't change because the exams doesn't affect the semester grade, just the course grade.

Well I've been off school for today and yesterday. Well, tomorrow as well, but my Examinations are coming up soon and I have to do some heavy studying. If I found year 10 exams hard, this one wont exactly be a walk in the park.

Try taking them at the same school for 6 years straight. It gets harder at my school but we have fun to make up for the boring times.

I have this teacher that is the most unorganized person ever. She gives us homework, doesn't tell us if she collects it or not, then 3 weeks later she askes for it as a grade. Then even if I turn it in, she loses it half the time! Also, she doesn't upload the online report card regularly, so I can't tell if I have to turn something in or not. The only reason I pass the class (just barely with a D) is because I almost 100% on all the tests. Every other week I have to work my grass off to raise my grade to a C or my mom's going to murder me. Then I have my final which I have to get a good grade on in order to make a cement my C for the semester =/

Man it felt good to vent =)
