The "What a Ripoff" Thread

Buying A BUNCH of fake Yu-Gi-Oh cards when I was into that.

@Cardslinger: Pokemon TCG really is a rip off. The rotations aren't really to start over with new cards, it is simply to get players to spend fortunes on new cards.
 
I was at a gamestop really close by and they had preorders for pokemon black and white and it was $10 upfront and $30 at the time of release.... I just walked away and decided that there are a billion places I could get it for $35

Anyways, I bought this game called "Toy Shop" for DS when I was 9, and it was awful and I spend all my money on it :(. I sold it on eBay later, but for $4.
 
I spent seven pounds, so about eleven dollars or something on a book. I finished it in an hour and it was the worst book I've ever read. Even worse than my writing, andthats saying something.

So I gave it back and got a new book which is worth reading. It's called an encyclopaedia.

I had to put $10 down as well, but that's because I reserved BOTH games. It should have only been $5 for one, so that was a ripoff at that particular Gamestop then.

Gasoline. Just saying the word makes my money cringe.

I also can't stand in when you walk in one store, buy something, and find out that it's cheaper at another store. >:[
 
Thefleeee: Sales tax. That's what makes it close to 40. Preorders on black and white are 5.00 down. Depending on how high sales tax is in your area....that designates what you pay.
 
I bought a $25 toy helicopter and I don't like to learn things and.... well, I broke it by hitting with many boots and poured water on it and got shocked. Worst day ever!
 
A few years ago, my parents got my brothers and I some RCA CD/Cassette/Radio devices (one each, kind of similar to this one). These things are terrible. Problems with them include:
  • Poor radio signal if you move around. (Almost as if it's using you as an antenna.)
  • CD player skips on CDs no matter what their condition.
  • After being plugged in for a about week, the system will freeze completely until you unplug it and plug it back in. This problem never goes away.

This problem has happened with both my system and my brothers', so it's very possible most of them do this (unless it was somehow a bad batch?). These systems are pretty large, so there's really no excuse for their poor performance. Luckily, as stated before, they were bought years ago so they shouldn't be in production anymore. Definitely one of the worst products I've owned.

Wow...thank you internet so next time i go to colloctors cache in kansas i won't be tempted to buy 2 OF THESE....troll & toad FTW! (collectors cache is still a cool place to hang out though)
 
Once I bought LA pack (usually somtin good in those) I opened the pack AND THERE WAS NO RARE! I was so angry I went to the front desk for a refund the said it was pokemons fault not there's :(

I stopped reading there because that's already a rip off. :p

I bought this camcorder off ebay for 25 dollars. It was a piece of junk >_>
Note: Never buy electronics off ebay from China.
 
When I was 7(?) I traded my Red Eyes B. Dragon with a 5th grader(?) for a level 4 Fairy card.

(this is yugioh so yo might not know what I'm talking about :I)
