The Yu-Gi-Oh Thread

2-2 today.
I hate Evilswarms. >_<
How do I stop Ophion when my deck is Synchro-based?

Forbidden Chalice dude. I honestly think that's your only real option. Pop it with a Snowman Eater?

...I guess...

I'd use Muzurhythm, except it loses its ATK boost at my End Phase. There's Psychic Nightmare as well (which I tried to use today against it, and my opponent did have trouble), but I had to go first to get it out. The most reliable way is to hit over it, but I can't get something out big enough unless I Synchro, which Ophion blocks.

Ok. I just find Mirror Force to be a bit more helpful than D-Prison in my games. Furthermore, if I go Macro Game 2, Mirror Force just becomes a better D-Prison. I run a 1/1 split simply because I can't find the commitment to run two of one card, haha. I was actually hoping for commentary here. What do you think? Should I go 2 Compulsory over 2 Fiendish?
I dunno, test how 2 Compulsory goes for you.

Bought a pack of HA7 for shits and giggles today, and pulled Ophion.

feels good man

I bet DNA is overjoyed to hear such words

I have an idea to boost discussion a bit.
Any cards in particular you have a lot of trouble with and can't just seem to get around? Well...I think we can all do our best to figure out decent and/or unexpected and/or innovative counters to said cards (if you say Prohibition, I will kick your ass). It'd be an experiment of sorts to see how much we really know about the game.
I'll start with a sample card that I in particular actually regularly have trouble with--Evolzar Laggia, both before it hits the field and while it's on the field. Though it's been shadowed by Rank7.metagame, it's still a deadly Solemn Judgment on legs that requires a ton of thinking to get around.
Serperior: You play Dino Rabbit...what are some of the deck's weaknesses, and how do people get over YOUR Laggia?

Psychokinesis.

It's a fun feint to use against Zenmaines, Maestroke, and Laggia. Heck, I have that in hand vs Laggia, I have absolutely no fear. And when used as a feint that way, I don't lose LP.

Only reason I run 2 and not 3 is because I don't want to take that big of a chunk out of my LP.

How do people get over my Laggia? Often times they Dark Hole me and then send something bigger. Or they'll use that stupid Dracossack and pop it. Monster effects get me a lot, and it's super annoying.

Any cards I have trouble with and just can't seem to get around? Well that's easy. Six Samurai Shi En. The only ways I've really known to get around it is to get out something bigger and hit it, but when they get it before your first turn along with a swarm of other Six Sams its often pretty hard to do that before they just overwhelm you (especially because some other 6Sams have destroy effects).

On another note, I built a Phantom Beastcraft deck on DN with an Elemental Dragons sidedeck. Most of the decks I've faced so far haven't really been competitive to give me good feedback though.

Shi En is annoying as balls. You have to hit him with a card effect. Or many. Once you see the Kageki, drop the Maxx "C", and wait for a bunch of Spell and Traps to come your way so you can take him down with Soul Taker or Dark Hole or weaken it with Forbidden Lance. Honestly, it's best to stop the Kagemusha from hitting the field in the first place, or else you could be in a whole lot of trouble.

Oh yeah, Ophion is still really annoying.

Also, this just happened. This was amazing. Warning for explicit language.

T1 Laggia, Starlight Road, Solemn Judgment, and Fiendish Chain.

I never really had problems with Shi En. It was notoriously easy for me to either Black Horn it, or just hit over it with Nightmare or even HPB.
...then again, not many monsters can stand up to HPB anyway...

Ok, I just beat a Six Sams deck 2-1. Lost Game 1, then sided in Soul Taker, Macro, a third Maxx "C", and a third Snowman Eater. Wow, did it work wonders. He went second, but I drew into Maxx "C", and once I saw the Elder, I dropped it. Got like, four cards, or something ridiculous, (I dunno why he didn't stop), but he pretty much gave me the game. He didn't have anything left after I Fiendish Chained (got negated) and Compulsed his Shi En, so I felt like a boss. Good game. The third one was a little weirder, but I got the Solemn Warning off on his Shi En and won with...Zenmaines? And Snowman Eater did work. I just popped everything. Went into Acid Golem after popping his backrow when I got two Snowman Eaters and swung heavy for like two turns. And that's all she wrote.

I always seem to go 3-1 at locals w/ Constellars. Dunno why I can't go 4-0.

I'll be at Anime Expo for the Yugioh tournament there. Same old Constellars. I'll let everyone know how I do, lol

Oh, crap, forgot about this thread
puddizzle, what's your list look like, and what do you usually lose to?

I was playing against...I think Madolches, and he ended up discarding a Maxx C on his turn once I activated Cleric's effect.
I then proceeded to let him draw 5 cards that turn. He was incredulous that I kept letting him draw.
It didn't matter, because I got out Beast and Barkion in the same turn. Then he saw why I let him draw - he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway.

And yet I still can't seem to do as well at locals. I swear, Madolches are the only thing I lose to...

I need to start using my Infernity deck that I built specifically around achieving this long, really complicated infinite combo. I want to see someone drop Maxx "C" against it so I can mill them out. Of course, the combo can just kill them with Gagaga Cowboy but its more fun milling them to death with their own card. If I can ever pull the combo off in a real game.

Infernity is just THAT ONE DECK that I can never tolerate. Go ahead, play solitaire. Nono, it's fine, I wasn't interested in playing the game anyway.

I've heard talk of the Gagaga OTK. I have no idea how it works, but all I can think of is it involves Daigusto Emeral somehow.

Its k, with the Brionac ban the Infernity OTK is really complicated and requires you to build the whole deck around it (unless there's some I don't know about). The one I know of requires Instant Fusion in your hand as well as the usual Mirage, and you have to run Symbol of Heritage, Armory Arm, Dewloren, and Power Tool Dragon. Its so inconsistent that you're better off just getting out easy Void Ogre Dragons.

Gagagas? Are you referring to the OTK involving Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl, or are you referring to that Gagaga Cowboy OTK that DV was talking about?
