Rhyhorn HP: 60 [F]

111.png

Poké-BODY: Tough Bones
Any damage done to Rhyhorn by attacks from your opponent's Pokémon is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

[F][F] Thick Charge 30

Rhydon HP: 90 [F]
111.png
Stage 1: Evolves from Rhyhorn

[F][F][C] Horn Tackle 70
Rhydon does 30 damage to itself.

Weakness: [W] +20
Resistance: [L] -20
Retreat: [C][C][C]

Why does Rhydon, a Pokémon weak to Water, learn Surf? Who knows. But please, don't surf on your Rhydons. Water is very very bad for them.

Chansey HP: 90 [C]
Basic
113.png

[C][C] Healing Egg
Remove 3 damage counters from 1 of your Benched Pokémon.

[C][C][C] Happy Punch 100
If any of your Benched Pokémon have any damage counters on them, this attack does nothing.

Weakness: [F] +20
Resistance:
Retreat: [C][C]

Unfortunately, I'm at the part of the Kanto dex where a lot of the Pokémon here recieved evolutions down the line. So I'm trying to make these as interesting as possible, but not so strong that I need to power creep the evolutions later.

Kanto's dex isn't very interesting, too. Oh well, we're over 2/3rds of the way done with Kanto.

Next update will have some more trainers.

Tangela HP: 70 [G]
Basic
114.png

Weakness: [R] +10
Resistance: [W] -20

Supporter // Supporter
Koga's Ninja Technique
Spr_HGSS_Koga.png

You can only play 1 Supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokémon. When your turn ends, discard this card.

Discard as many cards from your hand as you like. Then, draw that many cards.

Stadium // Stadium
Safari Zone
FL_Safari_Zone.png

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

Once during each player's turn, that player may flip a coin. If heads, that player searches his or her deck for a Basic Pokémon and places it onto his or her bench. Then, that player shuffles his or her deck afterwards.

Man, I can't wait until we get to another full evolution line.

Kangaskhan HP: 90 [C]
Basic
115.png

Poké-BODY: Maternal Support
If Kangaskhan is on your bench and your Active Pokémon isn't an Evolved Pokémon, that Pokémon gets +10 HP.

[C] Collect
Draw 2 cards.

[C][C] Savannah Kick 20+
If Safari Zone is in play, this attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage.

Weakness: [F] +20

Kangaskhan gets +10 HP for each Kangaskhan on your bench.

[C][C][C] Marsupial Mayhem 30+
Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each Kangaskhan on your bench. If Safari Zone is in play, this attack does 30 damage plus 20 more damage for each Kangaskhan on your bench instead.

115.png
Put this card onto your active Kangaskhan. Mega Kangaskhan can use any Attack, Poké-POWER, and Poké-BODY from its previous stage.

Weakness: [F] x2
Resistance:
Retreat: [C][C][C][C]

Our first Mega Evolution in a while, and the first Mega Evolution on a Basic. I tried to center it around the Safari Zone Stadium, since I haven't been doing all that much for Stadiums.

Horsea HP: 50 [W]
Basic
116.png

[C] Squirt
Place 1 damage counter on 1 of your opponent's Pokémon.

[W] Dragon Awakening
Search your deck for a card with Kingdra in its name, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

Weakness: [L] +10
Resistance:
Retreat: [C]

Seadra HP: 70 [W]

Poké-BODY: Dragon Scale
Any damage done to Seadra by attacks is reduced by 10 for each Kingdra in your discard pile.

[W][C] Bubble Screen 20
Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Seadra during your next turn.

Weakness: [L] +20

Retreat: [C]

Back to broken evo lines. Oh well.

Goldeen HP: 60 [W]
Basic
118.png

[W] Queen's Dance
Search your deck for a [W] Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterward.

[C][C] Horn Attack 30

Weakness: [L] +10
Resistance:
Retreat: [C]

Seaking HP: 90 [W]
118.png
Stage 1: Evolves from Goldeen
119.png

Poké-POWER: Beautiful Dance
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may draw cards until you have 5 cards in your hand. This power can't be used if Seaking is affected by a Special Condition.

[W] Horn Attack 30

[W][C] Fin Rush 40+
Does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each card in your hand.

Weakness: [L] +20
Resistance:
Retreat: [C][C]

I couldn't wait another day. Seaking, like Kingler, has traditionally been pretty useless, but this aims to change that. Simple draw, but Seaking itself doesn't offer too much outside of that. It's a weaker Claydol, but still a playable card.

Staryu HP: 50 [W]
Basic
120.png

[C] Spinning Draw
Draw a card for each of your Benched Pokémon.

[W] Swift 10
This attack's damage ins't affected by Weakness, Resistamce, or any effects on the Defending Pokémon.

Poké-POWER: Cosmic Shift
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may use this power. Starmie's type is [P] until your next turn.

[C] Core Flash 20+
If Starmie is a [W] type, this attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage. If Starmie is a [P] type, this attack does 20 damage and the Defending Pokémon is now Confused.

Weakness: [L] +20
Resistance:
Retreat:

Fun fact: Staryu hasn't had more than one attack since Next Destinies.

Mr. Mime HP: 70 [P]
Basic
122.png

Poké-BODY: Energy Mime
If Mr. Mime and the defending Pokémon have the same amount of Energy attached to them, all Energy attached to Mr. Mime provides every type of Energy (The Energy still provides the same amount of Energy that it normally would).

[C] Devious Copy 30
If Mr. Mime has any Energy attached to it that matches the type the Defending Pokémon is weak to, Mr. Mime's type is now that type until the end of your turn.

Weakness: [P] + 20
Resistance:
Retreat: [C]

The wording on the attack was surprisingly difficult, and I'm still not sure if it's right. But it's a unique idea that I really wanted to go with.

Spr_B2W2_Blaine.png

You can only play 1 Supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokémon. When your turn ends, discard this card.

Place a basic Energy card from your hand face-down. Your opponent guesses the type of Energy. If they guess right, they draw 3 cards. If they guess wrong, you may attach that Energy card to 1 if your Pokémon.

Universal Energy acceleration, but only if your opponent guesses wrong.

Poké-POWER: Excited Buzz
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard an Energy attached to Pinsir. If you do, draw 2 cards.

[C] Powerful Beat 60-
Does 60 damage minus 20 damage for each Energy attached to Pinsir but not used to pay for this attack's Energy cost.

Put this card onto your active Pinsir. Mega Pinsir can use any Attack, Poké-POWER, or Poké-BODY from its previous stage.

Weakness: [R] x2

Mega Evolutions are always fun to create! Pinsir, however, takes the award for the weirdest looking one...

Look at all of your face-down prize cards. Choose 1 card you find there, show it to your opponent, and then put it into your hand. Then, choose 1 card from your hand and put it as a prize card face-down.

Well, at least this one's fully evolved.

For reasons I cannot understand, Gyarados has stage 2 weakness as opposed to the normal stage 1 weakness. The weaknesses in this era even contradict themselves.

Lapras HP: 80 [W]

[C] Transport
Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon and a Supporter card, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

Weakness: [M] +20

One thing I liked about the DP era (Which extended all the way to mid-BW with Emolga DRX) was dedicated "lead" Pokémon that your goal was to start with to aid your setup. Spiritomb AR was probably the best example of this, as it could lock trainers while searching out evolutions on zero energy.

Ditto HP: 60 [C]
Basic

Poké-BODY: Imposter

Look at the top 3 cards of your deck. Choose a trainer card you find there and use the effect of that card as the effect of this card. Discard the other 2 cards.

It's kinda hard to do something new with Ditto, since it does (and will always do) exactly one thing. oh well.

I wouldn't say that. As generic as Ditto might seem, it hasn't always done exactly the same thing. Koga's Ditto and Ditto TM come to mind as examples of Ditto cards that haven't straight-up copied the opponent's Active. Just because you feel there's no creativity to be found in the existing cards of your Pokémon of choice doesn't mean you can't make a creative fake of it. :)

Eevee HP: 50 [C]

I feel like the Eeveelutions are of two minds when printed in sets, either having nothing to do with each other or a crazy synergy gimmick. I went with the second, as it's much more interesting!

As long as Bruno's Fists of Fury is next to your Active Pokémon, each of your Active Pokémon's attacks do 10 more damage to the active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

And with that, I think we're done with broken evo lines! Hurrah!

...well, until we come back to them later.
