Hello I am returning to Pokemon after a prolonged break and am looking towards putting together a deck on a low a budget as possible, I am leaning towards the preconstructed decks as they should allow me to put together something thats fairly good if I combined a couple or maybe three and not break the bank in doing so.

Of course their is a lot of these decks around now and was wondering if anyone could recommend which ones to get or avoid, perhaps even link me to a page that reviews these decks.

Thanks in advance
Ash

Basically, those decks suck, to put it bluntly. They put in WAY too much Pokemon, wonky lines and crappy trainers.

If you do want a good deck, buy loose cards on Ebay. Should be relatively cheap and you SHOULD be able to find yourself a good competive deck for 40-ish bucks there.

Thanks for the reply Lou Cypher but as this deck is really only going to be played against 2-3 people who will also only really be using preconstructed decks I dont need something that is really ultra competitive so using the likes of Ebay to put a deck together would be overkill and really a bit of a waste of time as I only really plan on playing a bit during a few days holiday I have coming up then maybe some on an occasional weekend. So anyone who has advice on which are the better of the preconstructed decks and which plain suck would still be most welcome.

Trouble with that is D/P is not out here (England) yet and the holiday is from the 6th July so getting hold of them before that time is probably going to be out of the question.

Then go for the Venusaur deck from Crystal Guardians. That's the best in the Ex series I think. Or perhaps the Mightyena one from Power Keepers.

GET A D/P PRECONSTRUCTED DECK...

that will be a good start... any of the three decks are good...

IF I may say...

THE CARDS IN THE DECK ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT SINCE ITS A PRE-con...

THE objective is to collect cards after all...

Sneasle as mentioned I can not get a D/P deck at this time as the series is not out yet and it wont be in time for the holiday at the very least, after the series has been released I will of course go into buying one of the decks from that series, I am sad that its not really out in time as it would make a good new starting point. I have no intention of trying to collect them all, I used to play collect and sell the cards when the series was first introduced Base set :D, however the cards work out dreadfully expensive to collect and other things have much more of a demand on my finances at this time.

OH i see...

sorry for that... but i think there are some good decks there like the so called "Epic collection" ones...
I collect cards but only cards that I like... any way its apokemon world after all...

In a mad bit of insanity we ordered a box of D/P that happend to apear on a website before the offical release date and at a good price too :O.

Well done in getting a box so early, it will certainly put you in a good position later on in the year and next year.
If you want to play now and get a theme deck, go for the Venasaur deck from Ex Crystal Guardians as it's probably the best one. After that, go about modifing by buying single cards off e-bay to make the Pokémon, Trainer and Energy lines better, or wait until you get your box and see what you get in their instead of buying singles.
Either way, once you've made the deck, test it out to see if it works.
Hope I've helped.

Does anyone know when the D/P Theme Decks are coming out in the UK? Do you think they will come out by the end of the month with the DS Game or Early August? Plus I just ordered 3 D/P boosters!

Thanks
Murray

Hi. About your deck, I suggest getting an already made deck and rearange it a little. They sell made decks at most WalMarts for about
12 dollars. Since diamond and pearl came out, there are decks that
have the starter pokemon for it and its evolutions, like piplup, prinplup,
and empoleon! There are other decks too.Like the mind game deck.
The mind game deck has machokes, machops,a gardevoir, dusclops and more, but in pearl & diamond duclops evolves into duskenoir. and they don't have duskenoir in the theme deck.If you want to enter in a competition you better rearange the cards really good,so buy some diamond & pearl cards.I have a water&phsycic deck.Yay!I have 2piplups,2prinplups,and 1 empoleon! You should make your deck out of
2,3,or really risky 4 types, but you can use as many normal types as you want.(energys might be hard to get if 4 or more types)
I'm not the best trainer where I live, but I can tell you what I know.
