BW/BW2 Things you dislike about B/W

Dunno, what to say. It's all trial and error man...

If you don't have the patience or the time for it, then it's your loss if you're forced to cheat your Pokemon up to Level 100 with PokeSav instead of doing it normally. Just Pokerus a Pokemon, slap a Macho Brace, EV Train like crazy, and you're good to go.

If it's that bad then have someone EV Train your Pokemon for you, I'm doing the same thing for a friend of mine so that me and him can have a Wi-Fi Battle against eachother. In terms of EV Training, IV's should be the least of your concern, focus on their Natures instead.

Manipulating a Pokemon's Nature is much easier when breeding than it is with Individual Values where it's a 50/50 chance of getting it right with a Power Item attached to the Mother or Father of the Egg.

Breeder's do it better...

Natures have a 50/50 chance. IVs have a (1/31)^6 chance of you getting the IV that you want for all 6 stats. That's a very low chance, even if you choose to focus only on one or two stats. I don't like to pretend IVs aren't there, because they are, and they have a bigger influence on final stats compared to EVs.

Like I said, if the repetitive process of hatching and breeding and training to lv100 to see if you luck out is enjoyable, then good for you. But I personally don't like it when I have to put in 1-2 weeks of work only to have a bunch of randomly generated values dictate the end result by a large margin. Trial and error is not something I like when each trial lasts 1-2 weeks. That is a lot of time invested. Not every gamer can afford that level of commitment.

I once commented that Pokemon could probably have the world record for one of the most grinding-intensive RPGs ever. You have 6 things to level up instead of 1, a level cap of 100, you need to beat 4 pokemon for each stat point you want to raise (and even with macho brace/vitamins the typical amount to beat is still 20-30 wild pokemon), and what you get in reward for all your hard work is the POSSIBILITY that the end result may or may not be good. And there isn't even an easy way to CHECK beforehand because IVs are hidden. Ultimately pokemon may have a competitive scene but it certainly wasn't designed to be competition-friendly.

Competition friendly? Well there's Flat Battles in HeartGold and SoulSilver, I don't know If that feature is in Black and White or not. You know where both players set their Pokemon to Level 50 regardless If it's 100 or above 50.

Levels are trivial. Even a 10-year old can get a lv100 pokemon. But of course we all know in the competitive scene, stats and moveset are the real decisive factor. You do have control over the moveset, but for stats, there's only partial control.
