Thinking of buying a PS3

Hey I am thinking about buying a PS3, but I have some questions about the game system. To see if I want one or not. I am more of a Nintendo person, so I don't know much about the PS3, so it is helpful for me to know.

How much are new ones?
How much are used?
Can you play it on any TV?
Can it play PS and PS2 games (I heard it doesn't play all PS2 games)?
Any other information about it will be nice.

Used depend on game, around 40 for the average after a month I guess. But I don't buy used so.
Yeah, might have to buy other cables
Any PS, depends on the model for PS2 games, all newer models don't play any PS2 and it will be hard to find one to play PS2 games.

Yeah you can pretty much play it on any TV (actually now that I think about it, you may need a Monster Cable).

It's just a different type of cable that transmits more data. Also, it has a differently shaped plug than normal.

PS3 Can do With scart, HDMI, And Digital.

Nowadays, a Blue-Ray Dvd player is like the same as a PS3 system, and PS3 plays Blue-Ray too.
It can play games on any TV, But some TV's have problems with Blue-Ray films.
