Expanded This Volcanion deck isn't working too well. Help?

I play Standard so I don't wish to use Expanded cards. However, my locals plays expanded exclusively so I just have to drag along. I'm not getting wins with this deck and need help.

Hi there. Nice deck. Sorry to hear that you haven't been receiving too much success with it: I think I know why

Running a 1-1 Octillery line definitely looks a little clunky. I may be wrong, but I would suggest you consider replacing it with a copy of Hoopa-EX and an extra Baby Volcanion.

You've got a lot of draw support in that deck. I would argue that the Brooklet Hill to get out Daddy Volcanion is not totally necessary, especially if you add Hoopa-EX. I would scrap all of them and one N for 3 copies of Scorched Earth and 2 Mallow. This is an essentially impeccable strategy for getting the right 2 cards you need, and as you're running Tapu Lele and VS Seeker anyway, 2 is enough. If the problem that you are having is consistency and failing to draw the right cards, that should fix it.

If you are playing people that run Expanded cards with a standard deck, you are obviously going to be at a disadvantage. May I ask how exactly do you end up losing: are you being overpowered by opponents attacks or are you failing with consistency?

The Octillery line is no more clunkier than the Starmie line honestly but if we're doing Expanded, then Hoopa is the call (because it's rotating out of Standard anyways). I was thinking I need Blacksmiths in this deck? I mean, Volcanion does run those in expanded, right?

If Volcanion doesn't work out, Espeon/Garb is something that's been working well for me thus far, even in Expanded.
