Thoughts on Ninetales post rule change?

I am thinking about testing Nintales with Laser / Bank and Darkrai / Sableye. It's not a good replacement for catcher but it can KO EX's (with some luck) for one energy. Also thoughts on escape rope? I've been testing it and its pretty decent.

I plan to replace all of my decks' Pokémon Catchers with either Escape Rope (may be more "situational" and "decent" is my best rating too), Switch, draw cards, Poké search cards, and / or techs. Since Virizion (Genesect or Mewtwo) decks are popular, and Ninetales does provide the 100% Catcher effect, I believe Ninetales will be a viable tech alternative in a variety of decks.

Ninetails is actually nearly useless against V / G; Virizion's ability stops special conditions, thereby allowing Ninetails to max out at a whopping 40 damage.

Not necessarily, The least threatening card in those decks is virizion (Mime doesn't count) because it can only hit for 50. If you are playing first, there is no reason why you cant take a t-2 knockout on a Genesect EX or severely injure a Mewtwo EX or KO a benched Virizion and with crushing hammer coming back into format it is possible to shut down virizion's ability. Yeah ninetales wont always be a useful attacker but it will atleast provide the catcher effect which is good enough in most cases. Also silver bangle allows it to max out at 100 w/o conditions.

Escape rope is really impressing me with darkrai's sniping ability. There have many occasions where I play it when all of my opponents bench has been softened and no matter what they send up, its always a KO. I usually save them for late in the game for reach, but I will use it early to kill a Mr. Mime. Mr. Mime is a jerk.

I suppose you could get by with Catchering around Pokemon with energy on them, but Virizion / Genesect does have energy acceleration making that difficult, so I think a better bet would be Genesect.
