Thread or Topic?

Does Topic or Thread sound better to you? Topic sounds better to me

I was in a different Forum last time and it said topic not thread but I'm getting a bit used to topic than thread.

Thread, for some reason when I 1st read that, I was thinking of threat, which was so funny "post a new threat" "WHOA?!". + I already got way to used to it.
