okay so I'm taking Thunderdome to states and I'm a little worried because it's not doing too well currently, so I want to know if this is a good list or if it needs some improvement:

pokemon: 19

3-2-3 Magnezone Prime
3-3 Eelektirk
2x Thundurus EP
1x Mewtwo EX
1x Zekrom BW
1x Terrakion NV

T/S/S: 26

4x pokemon collector
3x N
3x Sage's Training
2x PONT
3x Junk Arm
3x Pokemon communication
3x Rare Candy
2x Catcher
2x Switch
1x Super rod

energy 15:

3x Prism
12x Electric

Strategy:

Discard as many energy as you can on the first few turns, then try to get out a T2 or T3 magnezone/Eel. Thundurus accelerates energy early game, an of other techs, Terrakion takes care of eel decks, mewtwo helps against mewtwo and will dominate any deck not running it, and zekrom is for magnezone's bestest friend, durant.

I really like how my list is now, but I feel like I'm missing something... any he, Thanks! :)lp would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

Id try a Zekrom EX if you can. Also, isn't 7 draw+Magnezone a bit much? But otherwise looks pretty good but maybe 4-3 Eels?

He already got Super Rod, so he can just Super Rod it and then Collector/Communication for Mewtwo.

yeah unfortunately I don't have a second mewtwo :( or zeky EX for that matter... (stupid me trading my only one away >.< ) also I like all the draw supporters, because before I was drawing dead hands much more often (yes I have 10-11 supporters before and I couldn't get any of them :/) maybe I'll drop PONT and add J-Arm and N/Sage.... thoughts?

I can say right now that this deck doesn't need a 2nd Mewtwo EX. Even 1 is barely necessary because Magnezone Prime keeps your opponent's Mewtwos in check just fine although I would stick to 1 if you have it just to be safe if you don't have enough of a set up to Lost Burn all 4 energy for the OHKO.

And if you're considering Zekrom EX I don't think there's really a need. The only thing I can see Zekrom EX doing is handling some of the bulky fighting types you might run into but I just don't think it's really worth it especially, if say, your opponent can just revenge kill it with a Terrakion or something. Besides, if you added it in you would have to change your energy line because Double Colorless Energy would definitely be necessary.

Now onto actual changes I think you should consider which actually isn't very many. Your list is actually very similar to a list I took to my states last weekend which took me to T16 in masters only losing to the mirror match in sudden death. But anyway, before I start rambling about how I think I could have gone further... =P

-2 Professor Oak's New Theory
-3 Prism Energy
-1 Lightning Energy

+2 Professor Juniper
+3 Fighting Energy
+1 Cleffa HS/CoL

These changes are actually very optional to be honest. If you think that they're bad and don't bother changing them I can't really see it effecting you much in an actual match.

Basically, Professor Juniper instead of Professor Oak's New Theory because I think it's a more solid draw supporter and it can even get Lightning Energy into your discard pile that could be key early game for KOs. But of course if you want to be safe and not worry about discarding important cards then don't worry about Professor Juniper and stick to Professor Oak's New Theory.

For another very minor change I saw switch out the Prism Energy for Fighting Energy. Definitely an optional choice but 2 reasons I can think of why it might help is that if you're not playing any special energy then you don't have to worry about those Lost Remover techs in decks or even the ever so scary Durant. The other reason is Fightning Energy is actually recoverable through Super Rod. Now I'm not saying you'll often need to Super Rod back Fighting Energy but I think it would help in some situations. Like for example if you had to discard some of your Fighting/Prism Energy earlier game but you still plan on using Terrakion you can send a Fighting Energy or 2 back to your deck along with whatever else so you have a higher chance of drawing it when you need it.

And for the last change, it's rather simple actually. I think Cleffa is a huge card in this deck to help with set up. Now you play Thundurus so might make it so you don't focus so much on set up but early game KOs. I didn't play Thundurus in my build so I really don't know for sure if playing it means you don't need a Cleffa but I still highly suggest playing one just so you have something to fall back on if you get a bad start. As for why take out a Lightning Energy, 14 energy should be plenty for you.

So yeah, I think that's about all I have to say. Let me know if you have any questions to ask about the changes or the deck in general. Your list looks very solid to me and I think it can take you far if you play well at states. Pretty sure I'm skipping this week of states so I don't think I'll see you at CT this year but I hope you have fun and if you're planning on going to MA states then maybe I'll see you there. :]

2 Mewtwo EX helps with deck consistency though, I guess you could get away with just 1 but you'd have a greater chance of your only copy being in your prizes compared to running 2 where 1 is in your prizes and the other is in your deck, in some games you'll have 2 in deck with none in your prizes.

If you're going to run Zekrom EX run 3-4 PlusPower to be able to KO an EX easier, also you might want to look into running some Lost Removers to control the board If they have any DCE's, Prism's, and other Special Energies out. Hope that helps and good luck to ya...

I decided not to run Zekrom, as that would mean I'd have to take out terrakion for the DCE etc. also technically the chance it would be prizes is smaller because the draw rate is smaller.... also I just simply can't afford another mewtwo right now with states being tomorrow and everything....

Thanks for the advice Afro! xD I don't think I really need cleffa because I have tynamo/other cards. but I might give him a chance. I'll definetly consider running fighting though after yesterday in testing when I saged a prism that I unwillingly discarded.... maybe 2fighting and 1 prism? (also I dislike juniper D:) I ended up taking out the Oak's..... for 1 N and a Junk Arm... so far it's not too bad, thoughts?

Do you need 8 draw and [/font]Magnezone?

yes I believe I do, I tried taking out oak for a 4th Jarm and another N, out of 4 games I won one where as before against the same deck I did much better :/ I find myself using the draw supporters to get magnezone out who will carry me the rest of the game....

anyways here's my final list before states tell me what you think:

Pokemon: 19

3-2-3 Magnezone Prime
3-3 Eelecktrik
2 thundurus
1 zekrom BW
1 mewtwo EX
1 terrakion NV

T/S/S: 26

4 pokemon collector
3 Sage's Training
3 N
2 PONT
3 J-Arm
2 switch
3 rare candy
3 communication
2 catcher
1 Super rod

Energy: 15

3x Fighting
12x electric

it's almost the same but I took afro's advice and added 3 fighting... anyways I'm going to eat dinner then go to bed, Wish me luck!

I'd run a zekrom EX IMO and a 4-3 line of eelektrik in case one is prized. I'd run some juniper and another junk arm too.

okzy everyone thanks for the help! xD I went to states and took 3rd there :) I'll make a tourney report tomorrow (since the one I wrote up today got viciously erased by my evil pc D: )

I know, I meant no offense D:

it's just this is my first tournament season and only my 3rd tourney so I think most of my success can be put on luck not experience.... :/
