wow. diamond and pearl masuda message is really interesting definately going to lake va1or on the 12th.
 
Well, from the profile, you can tell that January 12 will be Masuda's 40th birthday, so it's probably gonna be an easter egg of sorts from him. Something on Mystery Gift, perchance?
 
yep.also cant wait for ranger 2 in u.s. and foil metal will really help since at least for me,basic dark/metals are really rare.

Well, nothing really surprising about ranger2, 1 thing I really hate is how none of those "starters" really seem interesting to me, but, well, does it matter? Oh, well, it'll probably have a legendary 'event' Pokémon, or just some random legendary with some new move making it even more uber, so I'm probably going to end up buying it, even if it doesn't.
 
You think maybe the floating Darkai on Pokemon.com and the blog are related???? Wonder Card FTW?

Wait! Darkrai is in the Pokemon Ranger 2 game! You can tell by the Darkrai figure in the background in the first thunbnail! Maybe that is related to the shadow on Pokemon.com....
 
Can't wait for Ranger 2 already now. Ranger was a great Pokémon spin-off game (the best I've played, in fact), so, as long as they don't mess around with the main game mechanics too much, it will be great. I do wonder what Darkrai will have to do with it though... As for the starters, what is wrong with making Jigglypuff one of them? Probably better than Kricketot.
What a strange message on the blog. What is going to be so different about the game on the 12th. No matter what, I'm going to have to find out, be it through this or doing it on the day without any idea what I'm looking for. Of course, they depend on it working for the American game.
The Metal energy looks nice, but it's just a Metal energy, not a lot to get excited about.
 
I heard that Masuda's English is not the best, so his secret message could be misinterpreted wrong. I heard about his post on his blog from Smogon, and I heard of Pokemon Ranger 2 from Serebii. Holo Metal looks so cool. It makes sense that they made it, since Maylene does use Lucario which is Fighting / Steel. I wonder what they'll use for Bryon then. :O

Masuda's hint might lead to some possible guesses. (Most are from Smogon and here) Jan. 12 is his Birthday, which suggests something special, like his Favorite Pokemon or something. It is also a day that hasn't been in English copies of Diamond and Pearl yet, so they may have programmed something in the game to occur on Janurary 12. It's a possiblity, but people have claimed nothing happens when they change the DS's internal clock. Going to Lake Valor is interesting. I definately wouldn't have come up with that connection. Most likely, it has something to do over Wi-Fi, but again, there is not enough info. to say whether it's over the GTS, Wi-Fi specifically, etc. Most interesting of all, is that people seem to think it has something to do with Darkrai, Shaymin, etc. I'm not one to speculate, as I'm probably just going to be let down. All we can really do is wait until more details are shown.

Ranger 2 looks cool. There's many starters and it's rumoured to have Wi-Fi capabilities. I actually might try it out, if it's better than the original.

Ohhhhh. I hope it is in the English games. Whatever "it" is. And... Pokemon Ranger looks pretty cool. I like those starters to choose from. ;f
 
Mmmm... Such an interesting update.

Ranger 2 looks so much better than the first Ranger. What was said about "quests" sounds like it is going to be a much needed advancement from the "the only missions you do are the ones in the story" kind of thing from the first one.

The characters look a lot different... I am very glad that you can choose a partner Pokemon this time around. The Plusle/Minun choice was great and all, but most everyone wanted something different. What really makes me happy about this, though, is that they put Misdreavus as one of the options. Misdreavus, more specifically Mismagius is my second favorite Pokemon, so no complaining in that area.

Masuda said that "you'll find something different" if you play Pokemon Diamond/Pearl on January the 12th. That really points away from the Wifi theory. It just says to "play" it. Although, it still could be Wifi, I guess. We can really only guess at this point.
 
Wow, I'm more psyched about the fact Masuda shares the same birthday as I do. 8D

Could the Darkrai event and Masuda's birthday happening around the same time be just a reason to give out Darkrai? Perhaps...?
 
The second Pokemon Ranger game hasn't even been announced in North America yet. More than likey, the flyign Darkrai is related to the 10th movie or a TCG set. As for there being a rare event in the new Ranger game, I don't know. Hopefully it won't be like another Manaphy mission. They always seem to make the game similar to their predecessors, so don't get your hopes up too high. :p
 
The surprise sounds pretty sweet and I Hope then new Pokemon game will be good but I am not a hardcore player but I hope it will be a good game.:)

i think it has something to do with wi-fi or the GTS, cause if there isn't anything different when people change their internal battery's time, then i doubt it has something to do in the "real gameplay"...

well, maybe "to come up with one" means like, to have azelf for example? will the GTS have "a surprise pokemon" that can only be obtained if u have azelf? we just have to wait....
