Tips for trading on PTCGO?

Hi. I just wanted to know what are some good tips when trading on Pokemon Online? Like how to spot a good trade, a bad trade, a fair trade etc. Also, how do people value their cards? Does it come down to both usefulness and quantity?

For example, I asked if a trade involving my Dragons Exalted Booster pack be worth another persons 4 N's and who would be better off in the trade. Apparently the guy trading away the 4 N's would be better off.

How to spot a good, even trade: when the offer is fair on both ends, or when each player is getting what they want/need. For example: My 2x Raikou EX and 3x Eelektrik for your 1x Tornadus EX FA and 1x Terrakion NV.

How to spot a bad, unfair trade: My Regigigas EX FA for your Darkrai EX FA. Just because they're the same rarity doesn't make it a fair trade.

I personally value my TCGO trades on usefulness, how many I have and how bad I need it.

RE: PTCGO Trading

Be wary. 90% of traders on PTCGO will try to rip you off. Whenever I trade, I always have a link open to Ebay search w/ completed listings checked so I can search the going rates of cards. If the trade is even value on both sides, I consider it fair, but it's always better if it's a card you need. People also tend to overvalue their own cards. I've seen people wanting 10 packs for Darkrai FA (a 40 dollar value), when on Ebay it's going for around 20 dollars (5 packs). Just try to keep a level head when trading and you'll be fine.

(P.S. I value packs online and IRL at 4 dollars, since that's what they go for in my area. Others will probably value packs for less, but use your own judgement)

RE: PTCGO Trading

I will sometimes make a trade on PTCGO just to help someone out. Like I think this morning, I traded a Pikachu for a Minccino, or some other card that I have tons. I like to think that the person on the other end is a kid or newbie, and it's fun to make their day. :)
