To buy tins or packs?

I'm considering buying tins, but I'm not sure if they've been cracked like the boxes. Do you know? I don't want to buy one and not get any good cards. What are the chances of getting good X's in tins? I'm talking about old Lvls X tins.

Well, I got a Dusky X from a Garchomp C tin, and a Alakazam 4 X and a Rhyperior X from one of the reprinted Darkrai tins (and that's out of the 3 tins I've gotten). The other one (reprinted Giratina) got me 3 holos. My friend (he's gotten way more tins than me) has gotten a level X in about 3/4 of his tins. Idk if we're just lucky, but I think tins usually have a high Level X/Holo ratio.

By Old Level X tins, what do you mean?

I mean the old tins that have X's, not hte new Prime tins.

i woulld rather buy a booster box online $90 usual + free shipping

and it gurrentee you something good and you can sell and rebuy ^^ the good stuff.

Unless you want variety and dont want to spend a lot.

If the tin less then 15$ then it's not bad.
 
If I buy a tin, it'll be $9-$10 each, but I'll have to buy 5 and shiping is free. What do you think? That's 15 platinum series booster and 5 dp boosters and 5 tin x's. good deal?
 
man, that sucks. i guess if i do buy them, i should just be glad that i get the tin x's, which really arent worth that much anyways.
 
Well if you buy tins like Garchomp and Mewtwo tins it'll be worth it as they both are very playable and you could get better cards in the pack, plus you can still store cards in the tin you get.
 
9$ dollars a tin that great deal.

yes i would buy the mewtwo tins if your able to get them.

Tins have their ups and downs.

Ups:
Free lv.X you get to choose.
4 Booster packs
Cool storage tin
Possible Lv.X in packs

Downs:
Olds packs in 4 boosters. (Example: The D/P tins had 3 packs D/P, 1 pack EX.:()
Only 4 packs
Lv.X has weird artwork(Usually)
Lv.X is a promo, not worth much.
Packs are random, don't get to choose which block you want.

Personally, I like packs more, but I like tins a lot. If you can get the tins cheap, then go for them.
 
You have the same chance of pulling something good out of a tin as you do in a pack. If you are going to buy a Lv.X tin Garchomp C Lv.X is the best Lv.X promo.

Those are really good deals. If you're buying tins, there are only 2 that are any good for competitive play. Garchomp C Lv. X and Mewtwo Lv. X are the only ones worth buying for a player. However, if you're just a collector, there's tons of other tins worthwhile. At that price, I'd personally just buy 5 Garchomp C Lv. X tins and hope to get lucky in the packs xD
 
The thing about me is that I like Charizards. I was thinking about buying them so I could get 5 Charizard G X, but they'd all be promo, which kind of sucks for me. If I didnt, I could try to get a booster box later, but even then, i'm not sure how many good cards id get out of that. what do you think? booster box or 5 tins? at least with the tins, id be guaranteed 5 charizard g x promos right?

Yeah, you have about a 50% chance of getting a Charizard G Lv. X if you get a box, but if you really like it, getting 5 of those tins would be the best idea.
 
I think the charizard's art work on for the tin is really cool, so if you are not too picky, you could just do five of the charizards and hope to pull something else good. If you are a competitive player though, go for mewtwo and garchomp C's.

I got a Rypherior Lv. X in my third or fourth tin ever

My first tin ever gave me three holos, a Heatran (AR), a Rayquaza (SV), and something else I forgot. My third or fourth tin had a Lv. X and Legend!
 
If your getting tins for $9 then its definately a good deal. If you get to choose from any tins then its a super great deal!!! I would definately get garchop C and Mewtwo tins cuz the X's are great trade bait. I've bought plenty of tins in my life and I've gotten great X's. To name a few: Uxie X, Machamp X, Giratina X.
