Toddler Kidnapping in West Canada

I know that this doesn't concern most of PokeBeach. There's probably only about 100 members who are from Canada. Nonetheless, I feel that this horrible event needs to be discussed and mentioned.

Wednesday morning, the parents of Kienan Hebert, a 3 year old resident of Sparwood, British Columbia, Canada, awoke to find that their son was missing. He's been missing, and there have been little to no sights about the boy's whereabouts. This means that the kidnapper will be charged with breaking and entering, in addition to whatever he gets charged with for the kidnapping.

What makes this event so significant, and possibly explains why its getting the media attention it deserves, is due to the Amber Alert placed on it. The police have yet to say why it was issued however.

For more information, here are some news articles:
Saturday, September 10 article
Tuesday, September 8 article
Audio Story

So yeah, I guess you can discuss now.

Interesting...time for hacking to locate this guy :p

Moskaluk has said Kienan has a history of sleepwalking, but he didn't speculate about whether that is related to the boy's disappearance. Kienan's sleepwalking has never taken him outside the home, said Moskaluk.

Found this interesting too...hm

EDIT: Entertainment&Games=kidnapping thread. Astounding logic :3

Yeah I really hope the parents get their child back. I'm a bit confused about the whole amber alert thing though. I could have sworn there was an amber alert on the CBC channel here in Alberta that day when it happened. But the following morning I was listening to the radio and some callers were angry because there was no amber alert issued in Alberta. And now if I'm not mistaken these reports say that the Amber alert was extended to Alberta on Saturday? Maybe it was to only some parts or something cause I can clearly remember the notice saying it was a boy from BC and I wondered to myself why something from BC is being written about in our province.

Not exactly. He was found this morning in his bed. No trace of the suspect was found.

But yes, he was returned home this morning. So that means the suspect broke into the house for a second time.

I think the police are still trying to find the man though. But at least Kienan is home.

I suppose that since Kienan has been found, this thread can be locked if the mods deem it necessary.

No need for a lock, as there is always potentially more to talk about.

Whoever stole him is stupid lol. You usually kidnap someone to get information out of them, to be a dirty perv, or to try to get money out of the people who want them back. Hopefully this guy gets caught and learns his lesson.

Just read the article online. Wow that's great for the family but at the same time kind of disturbing that the kidnapper broke in twice now. If that were me I would think of moving to another place because that is just too scary knowing that the kidnapper could return with such ease.

I find this quite strange. Why would you go through all the trouble in the first place if you were just going to return the child the next day...

None the less, it's still good that the child is back with his family.

What is an "Amber Alert?"
And it is good to know that the kid is back. But how can this guy go in and out of their house freely? I would invest in an alarm system. I feel terrible for the family, I would be so paranoid after something like this. Especially if the guy was able to break back into the house a second time.

It's an alert to warn all the public about the kidnapper, and how you aren't supposed approach him and stuff.

That should explain everything about it. My guess is the kidnapper either freaked out or got cold feet and decided to drop the kid back home. However, that leaves a valuable key witness: the boy. Normally, if someone was freaking out, they are prone to rash decisions (in this situation murder).

I am extremely glad to see the boy is relatively safe and back at home but he must be going through quite the ordeal. I am interested to see the case unfold though.

Lieby Kletzky? Yeah, he was from Brooklyn, NY.

They actually made a new law in NY since that happened called the Lieby Kletzky Law, which says that every business on certain streets needs to be running security camera's 24/7

Good to hear that the Toddler was returned home. Not too great to hear that the kidnapper broke into the house to bring back the child, but at least he's safe
