If I use Togetics Delta Copy to use Latias d ex "Power Crush" Attack and I Knock Out a Pokémon and I don't have two Fire Energys attached to Togetic d, can I use this attack?
Yes you can use it since it doesn't copy the energy cost, but "You must do everything else required for that attack" which means that if you DO knock out the defending pokemon you Must discard 2 Fire energy from Togetic. Just play DRE on Togetic and you've got a free 80 damage, that covers Delta Copy's attack cost and the discard if you knock something out.Jack Bauer said:I mean can I use the attack even if I have attached two water energys to togetic d?
Alchemist_Almighty said:No, Togetic is the opposite. Togetic does not have to have the energy required to use the attack, but you MUST pay any requirements in order to use the attack. The requirement for that attack is that if you knock out the Defending Pokemon, you have to discard two fire energies. If you don't have 2 fire energies, then you can't use the attack to KO a Pokemon. The reason it doesn't say "Discard 2 Fire energies or this attack does nothing" is because the discarding effect only occurs when you KO a Pokemon, not everytime you use the attack.
Togetic says right there that you must still be able to meet all of the attack's requirements. Since the discarding effect is a requirement on a KO, you can't use it if you don't have 2 fire energies because you don't meet that requirement.
Alchemist_Almighty said:Latias's attack specifies that you have to discard Fire energies though. Togetic can use the attack with just 2 Water energies because you can ignore the attack's cost, but you HAVE to fulfill any requirements, and the requirement is that if you KO a Pokemon you have to discard 2 Fire energies, not 2 energies of any type.

Q. If I use "Metronome" and copy Lugia-EX's "Elemental Blast" attack, do I have to discard a Fire, Water and/or Electric energy if I have any of them attached?
A. Yes, when using Metronome in this fashion you do as much of it as you can. So if Clefable-EX only has two Water energy attached, you have to discard one of the Water energy cards (but not both). And if you have a basic Water Energy and a Rainbow Energy attached, you would have to count the Rainbow as one of the other types and discard both cards. (May 4, 2006 PUI Rules Team)
