Too many contests

I think that there are too many contests around pokebeach. There are about 5 or so going on. There should be a poll for people to vote on the best competition.. what do you guys think??
 
Well, if any deck competitions are left, it should be mine. It was my idea, and suddenly, everyone stole my idea!
 
I don't mean to be rude, because i have greatly enjoyed pparticipating in other contests, but my contests have been pretty well organized, and have been the most popular so far. They have gotten so popular, I have just opened my fourth. A "Important thred" may be good, but some people don't like big contests. I'll say again, I have nothing against other competitions, But mine have been the most succesful.

Henry ford created the first car. It was his car idea, than everybody stole his idea. Do we really stillwant to ride in model t-s? And comepletely no offense at all. I geatly enjoy your decklist competitions.

That doesn't change the fact that it was my idea. Seriously, I was just seeing if they were popular, and then everyone stole my idea. The only person who asked if it was okay was Gliscor, the rest of you thought it was fine to take my idea. My latest contest will be the best one, just look at it!
 
But isn't that how most great creations are made? Some dumb kid leaves juice out side with a stick in it, and he invents the popsicle! Then, a bunch of geeky harvard dudes to their sciency fix-it stuff, and make millions.

Doesn't make it fair or moral. I still think there are too many, and we should limit them.

The point is, it was my idea, and the rest of you didn't ask permission. IMO, all of your contests should be locked!

I agree with you, but I'm saying that just because some one thought of something, doesn't mean they own it.

I think 2 decklist compitition "franchises" is Ok. Me and Pokechamp. Maybe we can do one together.
 
Well, you guys didn't even wait until mine was finished. That's the polite thing to do, and you didn't do it.
 
guys 1 is enough..... maybe you 2 can both do ONE contest. But It was pokechamp's idea.

Now there are n00bs hosting contests too...

We'll hold a poll soon to see who gets most votes.
 
I still think 2 is good. I agree that we should eliminate the n00b contests. 2 is good, because if a person dislikes something about 1, they can go to another.

Well like have one in the spring and one in the fall or something like that... so we could rotate and have huge contests like the gym.
 
I don't like pokegym. Pokebeach is much more casual, unless you're a n00b.
 
All I think is, JC, you shouldn't of opened more than 1 contest. It's just too much. You're kind of the main reason contests are overcrowded. If you only made 1, the only main contests that would still be going on would only be PokeChamp's, Gliscor's, and your #1.
 
I agree with Meaty that you (JC) should just open one contest at a time. Does anyone else think we should have a supermod make a new forum specifically for decklist competitions? I feel we probably shouldn't be using the modified format forum because it is supposed to be only complete 60 card lists. We are basically telling everyone, "Here's your card, now make me a deck with it." That doesn't seem fair to make complete deck lists go toward the bottom because our competitions have many replies.

Ditto. Except we have this thing called "Fan Creations." It's where our contests should go. I think it's great that we have so many contests. People have a wide variety of interests.

I'm just going to put in my 2 cents...

I don't care about anybody's deck list contest, or who's idea it was to start it because whoever started it *not naming names* stole it from Pokegym in the first place so you can all take your egos somewhere else about these contests.
We should start a deck SLEEVING contest!
Upload videos to Youtube about who sleeves their REAL decks very nicely or swiftly.
That sounds like it would be more interesting than a deck list contest.

Julia,

Look young lady. Who are you to say that it should be *your* contest that stays along with Pokechamps. Who are you to say whose is most popular when it just seems to be the same few people signing up for every contest. As I recall you had more slots than everyone else and at the very least of having Pokechamps run-off. I mean, there's no reason to think yours would otherwise be superior to anyone elses. I mean, the fact you don't know what spell check is should be reason enough to say you got nothing better than lucky.

Point is, this is just a compilation of decks people have already posted to be judged on their individual merits and get improvement. All this does is compare them to one another by the first few underqualified people who judge them.

They're pointless, I'm just (once again) thrilled they're gone from the General forum.
