I've been playing the Pokemon video games for years now and I've recently started getting interested in the TCG. I'm really curious as to where to start. I'm really looking to keep it casual and thought about getting a starter deck, but I've heard that it's best to go with individual booster packs. I'd appreciate any advice on which route to go and which booster pack is the best to start with.

Hm... well, if you have NO cards, I would start by buying a Theme Deck, and a couple of boosters from the newest set, Great Encounters. As you buy and trade more cards, and your collection expands, you may find yourself wanting to build a deck that will be good in competitive play.

...Lol, I think that's where I am at right now. Hehe.
 
for a starter i advise you buy one of the new GE theme decks and at least 3-4 packs of cards also GE
