So Worlds include Japanese players? Does that mean they can't use Reviving Legends or are they the only ones that can?

Well, think about Supreme Victors. Were any japanese players using SV cards? I would assume it is legal for them, being as they are a set ahead, and I mean it wouldn't be fair if they couldn't use a deck that used SV cards. So...anyways, the sets that Lou mentioned will be legal, and prereleases for Reviving Legends will be right around worlds, if not a prerelease AT worlds...

Sorry but I just started back playing a month ago so I'm not sure what the Japanese players used in this year's championship....

If I remember from poking through the POP rules docs, the Hosting region's current Modified-Format sets are legal for worlds, which is always the North American region unless they take Worlds out of Hawaii. That would take the set ahead for Japan out.

IMO, there's gonna be a bigger rotation than people think. I really think that they'll drop us to Platinum-on after the second HGSS set is released. The format's pretty stale right now, and the large number of cards available is part of that.

I agree with gramps there. I too think that will be the shift, what about teh POP sets? 8 up or something? I think they will lose a lot of players if candy's go lol. It will make SP the deck to play really.

Rare Candies will be in either of the HG/SS sets, so don't worry about Candy being rotated out.

dmaster out.

I think there was some trainer kit too but those might have been reprints.

Would it really be fair to the other players if a small group of people had access to format-breaking cards that nobody else can use and some haven't even seen? People who are sets ahead of others can change their decks to fit the new format but it can't work the other way around. A set is not legal in North America until its official release date, not the date the first Prereleases happen. And Worlds always happen in North America so everyone goes by that format. I played in Worlds and didn't see a single Palmer's, Garchomp or anything of the sort. I think that confirms it, aside from the fact that it's in the official rulings.

I'm pretty sure all DP sets wil be rotated and it will become PL-on, with no POP series legal and either some or no DP promos legal.

hahah ^^^ God that would suck. Anyways I refuse to play as long as great pokemon cards exist.
Lv.xs better come back after this whole legend thing's over.

With all the DP sets moving out of the format. Flygon varients and SP varients are going to be the decks to play.

the rotation will be only when a new set includes a reprint Ros Res or a similar supporter card that searches for basics.

(we got PETM reprint rotation is going to be soon ;D )

also

i think it will be MD on or GE (depends if they want to leave claydol or not)
otherwise we wont have rotation this year (and we will have nexts worlds to rotate the lvl x sets. )

So they will only rotate 5 sets? I think they are planning on rotating all of DP still. It would make more sense. Since Platinum "block" can stand alone, it makes sense. There are no X's that carry over sets like in DP block. i mean all DP sets except DP and GE have pokemon Xs that don't have the corresponding pokemon with them in the set, I think this is a big clue that the cut off will be Platinum. Then after worlds there with be what 6 sets with a 7th due out. instead of 8 and 9, it would make more sense to spice teh game up a little. But I do agree that SP will probably be the play really, might make the game stale anyway. We can only speculate though lol.

I agree, I believe the rotation will be PT-on as well...but as for the format being stale...where did you get that from?...there are more decks in the meta right now, than I've seen in many a TCG format...a stale format would mean, that it's pretty much the same deck being played all over...this isn't the GG era anymore, and while we still may see GG make a comeback, it still won't be nearly as widely played as it was before...and even if you still consider the format to be stale, it isn't the large number of cards available to blame for that, it's the players' lack of creativity and originality, and dependence upon net-decks that causes that

while I do agree it will be a set rotation or none at all, I don't agree with the sets...POP doesn't really care about something like Rose's, it's been around for ages, and there can be another supporter to replace it...same with Claydol, both cards have been around long enough...Rose's is a card themed from the D/P/Pt generation, if that generation is not the focus of the set, then it's themed supporters will also go...take a look at Scott, for example, it would have been lovely to see that reprinted considering there is a Battle Frontier in the Pt video game, but Scott was only a character from the R/S/E generation and wasn't included in Pt's Battle Frontier

I highly doubt they will go through yet another year with no rotation...it has already been stated that there will be 13 sets to have been released by the time the next rotation comes, and right now, the leading speculation is that it will be a Pt-on format after Worlds...I would like to see POP adopt a new sanctioned format, being that unlimited isn't allowed to be run as a sanctioned format...perhaps a Dp-on format, then a Pt-on format...and rotate according during set rotations

eem you missunderstood me.
i mean that on the format there SHOULD be a card like Ros Res (is thinking holon mentor for example )(which btw when SW was out you could choose to have mentor or Ros Res or both ;) ) (supporter who brings basics)
and as similar to Scott(supporter who brings other supporters) we got the cyrus's conspiracy (who btw brings energy too )
as for claydol THEY DO care how will be the metagame.
so if they want to stay as fast as it is they will make some similar cards or leave it as it is. ( i DO agree on their choice that claydol has 2 retreat/80hp and kinda useless attack - makes the card balanced for its use)
now im thinking that Pt has cards so it can "stand" alone in a format. (but if that happens everyone will be playing sp decks till smthg awesome comes in play / a counter to em :p )

Wait a sec Platinum has Drapion Lv.X and no Drapion in any sets besides DP sets. So unless there's a new Drapion I guess SF-on or RR-on? And darvor, Pokemon Collector is a supporter in HGSS that lets you search for up to 3 basic pokemon...
