Never understood the collectors albums. Aren't they just guides on cards in the set?

I never knew. The only event I went to, with these card giveaways, was the one with the clefairy and the meowth. The pikachu and magikarp I completely missed and the Cosmog never really had anything to go for. I mean "draw a card" for a move?

I always thought the album was like a little book with card pouches where you could store the cards. Is this not what they give you?

You know, I was able to get my hands on a collector's album and really, it is a way to get kids to buy more of the cards (no duh). If you have one, notice how they do not have all the cards in the set, just specific ones. It is made to entice kids to buy packs, so they can match that card to whatever is shown in the book. Really obvious marketing ploy.
