Trading by mail overseas

Hi!
I am about to make my first trade overseas. And I have heard that you have to fill in a custom decleration. But I am not sure what to write under the value? If it was a purchase I would simply type in what the custumer bought it for, but now that I am trading I can't say and exact value of the cards since cards usually don't have a set value. The card I'm trading is a mew from pokémon rumble which is listed on ebay for 4-6 dollars.

I would discuss with my trading partner, how to fill out and for what amount. Some countries have specific rules on custom forms. Bear in mind, you can not insure a package for more than the declared value.

You can however put it's real value and mark it as a return, here in the UK you have to pay tax on anything over £15/$20, returns however are exempt and the law states it money has to have changed hands which isn't the case when trading :)

Is the Mew a promo or an unlimited card? If the card is a promo it is worth about $3.00 usually. Most promos don't cost more than that because they are not that rare. The one on ebay seems a little bit higher than the average price. I would just add $3.00 for the value XD. That is an average price for a promo XD.:)

Rumble cards are promo cards and the Mew is worth more than $3... That's why the price is higher on eBay... And Rumble cards are actually harder to find than your standard promos.

I always do an estimate when I fill out the customs forms. They really don't have a way to get an exact value and I'm sure they don't have time to look them up or care to. I doubt you're insuring a Rumble Mew, so an exact value isn't important. Good luck with your trade!

I did a rought estimate at like 5 dollars. Do you mark the cards as a gift or "other"? I used "other" this time since I saw that on a youtube video, but I guess I could've used "gift" as well? It kinda is a gift, only I'm getting a gift in return but I don't see how they would know that.. :)

Have you ever taken it to a card shop to get an estimated price? Usually card shops are pretty good on estimates most of the time. Sounds like those promos are hard to get XD.:)

No I haven't there aren't any card shops in my area. And card shops usually over or under value a card. It's easier to check eBay completed listings and get an estimate that way.

They came with a cool game that they don't make anymore. Seems like they're slowly getting harder to get. They're cute cards. :)
