XY Trolled by the AI

I'm sure you've all been playing Pokemon long enough to have that moment when you got it in the bag, and the AI scores a critical hit, or that clutch flinch, or just a good old instakill move that never hits, until they're facing you. You look at your DS in disbelief. Why now, on the 50th battle at the Maison? Why is this happening NOW?

It's ok, we can all relate to that nostalgia hatred of Pokemon games.

Here you can share your horror stories of the AI trolling you. Please limit this to the AI and not battles with other players. This prevents the thread getting slammed with irrelevant content.

I only have two real stories of this:
  • Whitney's Snubbull flinching me 17 TURNS IN A ROW with Bite. I started to think that Bite was an auto-flinch.
  • Battle Factory Gliscor breaks through confusion three times and gets three Guillotines in a row to sweep my team.

EDIT: Note to mods: I figured since this regards all of the AI in any game and not the Battle Maison that this could be a separate thread. If you don't think so feel free to move it.

Can we all agree that Whitney's Miltank in HGSS is pure evil with Scrappy Stomp? Yes? Good.

Moving on...
My worst troll in any in-game match would be against Blue in FR. So many critical hits in that match, it's not even funny. I even had a fully healed team (and this wasn't my first E4 run), yet still lost due to several crits on his part. I swear it went like:
Exeggutor used Psychic! Critical hit! Zapdos fainted!
Alakazam used Shadow Ball! Critical hit! Mewtwo fainted!
Gyarados used Earthquake! Critical hit! Venusaur fainted!
Ect.
Worst. Match. Ever.

Well in the Battle Maison, the opponent confused my pokemon, and I hit myself 3 times, hit him, then hit myself again. Next pokemon gets confused, hits itself twice.

In a VGC match last week against a friend, I was fully paralyzed seven turns in a row. The chances of that happening is 0,0000610. My Klefki was paralyzed on the very first turn and on the very last turn of the match, it got an attack off. A Swagger. The opposing attack went through.

Of course, I saved the battle video.

That's pretty normal. Confusion is 50%. Fully paralyzed is 25%.

Chansey in the Safari Zone always broke out on me. One tanked about 5 safari balls before it skipped away. I always wanted a Chansey/Blissey but could never actually get one before the GTS.

I'm pretty sure Whitney is by far the hardest thing I've had to face in a Pokemon game. After losing to absolute random RNG from Rollout and Metronome in SS for the tenth time I took out the cartridge and threw it as hard as I could against the wall while shouting some profanity. One of the only times I raged quit now that I think about it.

I also remember catching two boxed of Paras in LG to grind TinyMushrooms and I ended up getting like 2.

Thankfully it has never happened to me but I have a infinite amount of sympathy for anyone who gets the Wally Shiny.

Critical hitting when the opponent has no HP and hurting yourself a bunch is also something everyone has put with I guess.

Why does the Battle Maison always have the perfect team to counter what you're using? Me and my friend were doing a doubles challenge with Ubers for fun, when suddenly on the 48th battle, our opponent sends out a Gliscor and Scizor and wrecks our whole team with them. (we were using Deoxys, Arceus, Darkrai and some other Pokémon I can't remember)

I've had a similar experience; on a team I used in Y all the members had good moves at the start of their movesets. I decided to catch around 12 Luvdisc, thinking I'd get around 6 Heart Scales (since they have a 50% chance of holding them).
Turns out I only got one.

Then I caught a ton more (around a box's worth) and almost all of them had Heart Scales.

Yup the Battle Tower/Building/Subway/WHATEVER cheats with 100% 1-hit KO moves. They wanna see you use Sturdy! >.>

I have experienced this in the Battle Factory with my useless rental Pokemon and once in the Battle Maison against a Walrein.

What was scarfed? The Heatran could very well have been scarfed too...

Ok so here is my worst games ever.

Emerald- at Wallace final Pokémon his milotic I have 3 Pokémon left my mageton, swampert, and tropius. Note this is like my 5th time playing through the game all of the games before were flawless for me. So marvel scale, sitris berry, and recover with 2 toxic stalls Starts to cry from only left with my magneton thank god its part electric. What happens next I don't belive Ice beam Freeze and a surf Critical-Hit!

Platinum- at Cyrus before facing Giratina (Almighty Lord :p) and its a 1v1 my Abomasnow Vs. his Crobat I thought I had the match in the bag scene the hailstorm and ice shard but no. I ice shard gets crobat down to like about 1HP I think so hail should take it down and then the unthinkable happens. Corss poison Critacal-Hit and poisons me I`m down way to low to survive and die lose the battle from technical tie.

Gen 5 was flawless.

Y- at last battle with Lysandre and have to use Yvetal against his mega-gyrados 1v1. This is where I get totally confused here and I`m not lying ok so here it is. Outrage from M-gyrados Super effective hit knocks out Yvetal who was at almost full health from a Oblivion Wing hit. I started to think that Yvetal was somehow part Dragon and the game does not recognize it till I did it gain and realized it was a glitch.

For those of you into numbers, breaking through confusion three times and hitting Guillotine three times is about 0.015625 or about 1.6%

Also getting flinched 17 turns in a row is about 0.0000000000000000001, or one quadrillionth of one percent.

Correct me if I'm wrong. :p

Exactly on the dot but I was just paralyzed 15 times in a row and if I`m correct that is like a 2%chance of happening. This was on my Y in the Battle Test.

Wrong, the chance of that happening is about 0,0000000009313226. That would be about 0,000000093%

*does calculations again* Ooops did the wrong formula for paralysis. Derp :p

It's 0,25^15 which is the same as 0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25*0,25.

Not sure if this counts:
B/W and B/W2: Trolled by Zoroak's Illusion ability in the Battle Subway. Using an attack that's super effective just for it to miss or not being very effective and later to discover it was Zoroark.

My current team when facing Surge in LeafGreen: Lv25 Ivysaur, Lv21 Lapras (traded), Lv24 Nidoqueen.

Raichu used Double Team! Razor Leaf Missed!
Raichu used Double Team! Ice Beam Missed!
Raichu used Shock Wave!
GadgetJax used A+B+START+SELECT!

Hardest Gym Leader in Gen1, for sure.
