Right, I'm talking about a very good TCG player. 2004 World Champion using a Team Magma deck which pwned my Blaziken/Gardevoir deck almost every time my friend plays his Team Magma deck modelled after Yamato's World conquering deck.

Back to the question. I bet many of you noticed he had a Chimchar and a Monferno in his deck during the worlds. I looked at his decklist and I can't find out exactly why. Did he use them to trick opponents into thinking he is using an Infernape deck and thus confusing his opponents? Chimchar and Monferno really doesn't fit into his Empoleon deck, furthermore he had no Fire, Multi or Rainbow energy. He had Scramble and Double Rainbow energy but its not too useful for Monferno or Chimchar. To be honest, if he didn't manage confuse Tom Roos, he managed to confuse me  Akira Miyazaki's Swift Empoleon deck is really much better

*This is an old topic, sorry if someone had made a thread about it already, I have been absent from Pokebeach for a while.

Um its because his Japanese friends were running Scizor Ex so yeah Infernape was just like a tech.

But he only had one Chimchar and one Monferno and no Infernape, doesn't really work too well, and he doesn't even have the fire energy to use Monferno's first attack.

Do you even understand what Lou Cypher said?L_C said that the deck list was a mistype.Yamato actually have 1-0-1 infernape in his deck not 1-1 monferno.

That is why Lou Cypher just said that it was a mistype...
it was one Chimchar and one Infernape...

Actually Infernape does goes well in Empoleon, Ape can use the Scrambles and blast for 90 and has free retreat. But the real reason it was in was for the Scizor ex decks played by his fellow companions from the Land of the Rising Sun...

I don't think it was a mistype. I heard that the Japanese characters to show monferno and Infernape are very similar and then people thought he played Monferno instead of Infernape. Correct me if I'm wrong:p

Well, people that go to worlds obviously knows the attacks of pokemon, even though it's Japanese.. but, if they dont, they still have spare scans or sumthing to show them right?

Nah the Japanese used like full japanese decks, if a player needed help they would just call a translator. but if youre a good player you obviously have to know what the cards do...

Well, dont tell me those who make it to worlds dont know what those japanese cards do..

*Except if they grind rofl*

That post had nothing to do with this WHOLE thread but, I am now ROFLing and ROFD&Ling ahahahahahhaahahah SPAM ahhahahahahhahahahaha
