Tuesday, 1/8, First Great Encounters Card Images

Well, to start things off,

They renamed Suzy's lottery to Felicity's Drawing..

The dialga and Palkia is the exact same one from DP but with AWESOME ARTWORK!

I didnt think that rotom was going to be in it.. meh, he aint that great either.

I like tangrowth lol.

Togekiss and Cresselia is AWESOME.

Moonlight stadium's okay..

GE has the best icon in the DP set.

106 cards only!!!??? 0.o
This edition has less cards than SW, how great is that!!!
Anyway, I did not expect them to reprint Dialga & Palkia with the same artwork as the Japanese version because both of them are from a deck. As for the cards;

Cresselia: Even though Cresselia is in here, I doubt that the LV X version will be in here, haihz...

Dialga: No comment...

Felicity's Drawing: Like K'M said, they change the name. As for the effect, I like it...

Moonlight Stadium: This stadium will be useful in any upcoming Psychic & Darkness decks especially Darkrai decks...

Palkia: No comment...

Porygon Z: This can be a T2 card & if you are really lucky, you can inflict 120 damage by T2... :F

Rotom: A decent card...

Tangrowth: Good attack, but high attack cost...

Togekiss: Its poke-power's effect is way better than Holon Lass. Can be abused by playing SSU & probably Delcatty ex as well, if you know what I mean...
 
I'm almost schocked. I thought this was to be the best set ever. What does PUSA do? Mess it all up. I think I'm going to really e-mail PUSA about the set, and will add a petition with it... ok, the previous translations showed numerous cards that were to be uber... but I can tell that will cut down leaving us with a 1/4, but then nothing to combo with them, I am furious with the choice of Porygon instead of something else, and no eeveelutions leaves me broken. What do you expect us to play?! I am rather mad and fed up with how they have done this. I could care less about Cresscelia, and Dialgia and Palkia... *sigh* I only found the supporter to my liking. Togekiss= overatted... this is the last straw... PUSA, if you want to keep your people then please them you fools!
 
Totally agree. It's just so stupid having such little cards in the set. No eeveelutions? omgosh.. their sooo cute. I thought this set was gonna be massive.. but.. having 2nd thoughts right now.
 
Wow these cards look pretty awsome, the artwork for dialga and Palkia are really cool!!

Togekiss looks awesome! The attacks and the artwork! Good Pokebody, the attack is pretty good, not great but pretty good!

Dialga and Palkia look like they are going to have LV.X counterparts.

Felecity's Drawing seems to be a pretty good card!

Overall Great Encounters looks like its going to be a great deck!!

I'm not sure is the Eeveelutions are going to be in it or now, but I'll admit that it'll be a miracle if they do appear in this set, as the Eeveelutions are a rather large bunch of cards that I don't think PUSA would've hesitated to take out. x.x I just hope that I'm wrong.

Something just occured to me... What if the Eeveelutions are spread out over two sets like the Eeveelution ex set was. Remember that Umbreon ex and Espeon ex were in the Ex Unseen Forces set while Jolteon ex, Vaporeon ex, and Flareon ex were in the Ex Delta Species. PUSA may in fact give us Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon in this set, while Leafeon, Glaceon, and their Lv X forms appear in the American DP5 set. Just a possible theory.
 
Well I personally dont think the eeveelutions are going to be in this set (I REALLY HOPE I'M WRONG!) Here are some of my reasons.
1. I think the set would be pretty much based around them, yet I hope I'm wrong.
2. Moonlight Stadium is labeled 100/106, I think Rare candies are going to be in this set. Leaving 5 Lv.x's I assume Glaceon and Leafeon would have Lv.x counter parts. But then Cressalia, Darkrai, Dialga, Palkia are pretty much confirmed. So i dont think Glacy and Leafy will be in this as well.

As many said, I really hope I'm wrong! I want the eeveelutions in this set! I also thought this would be a big set, looks like its going to be small.

EDIT: Wes' theory may actually be true, It does make sense!
 
Hmmm,Come to think of it i am VERYdissapointed..Only 106 cards.. :(
Moreover what bonsly say's makes sense...SERIOUSLY..
 
There is probably one thing that may help us confirm whether or not any of the Eeveelutions will appear in this set, particularly Leafeon and Glaceon. If you look at the bottom of the Jap DP4 Scans page, you will see this on the bottom row:

If that card appears as one of the scans of the DP4 Great Encounters set, then it's highly likely that the Eeveelutions will make their appearence in this set. If we don't see the above card in English soon, though, well.... we can hope, whine, cry, and beg? *shot*
 
The cards look pretty cool. I love th art of the Pokemon and they look pretty strong.:)
 
Am I the only one who actually LIKES smaller sets? Collecting such huge sets is really hard on my wallet. I think around 100 cards is a good number for a set.

Of course it makes me really sad that this means we probably won't get the eeveelutions this set, but maybe PUI can do something really cool with the "filler" set. Let's just wait and see people.
 
Well, first off, the cards all look very cool with great artwork. The new Dialga and Palkia just have brilliant artwork. Onto the cards themselves:
Cresselia - Not bad, but not that great either. Lunar Dance could be useful
Dialga and Palkia - Their reprints, and not very good ones either.
Felicity's Drawing - I'm not sure about discarding 2 to draw 4. Good for discarding decks, but not much else (at least Infernacatty gets a drawing boost!)
Moonlight Stadium - Very techable.
Porygon Z - I've never been much of a fan. Will see play, but I don't think it will be good.
Rotom - It's and all or nothing card, and they don't do well.
Tangrowth - I like the card a lot. Snipes in a form like Blissey, can tank with the second attack and high HP. Will see a lot of play and will work.
Togekiss - the Poké-Power is great, but a mediocre attack. Will be teched into numerous decks.
As for the idea of another filler set, it would make a lot of sense, allowing us to catch up on the Japanese card pool. Also, I think having 2 smaller sets would be better then 1 massive set, mainly for collectors, but so players who buy boosts can get multiples of more, preferable better, cards. The only thing is, it gives us another Power Keepers type set, which I was never a fan of. Maybe this time, it would be better.

Arg! We got gyped Dialga and Palkia! You know... those Player's Club Promos in Japan... they'dve been perfect in here as holos! I also wonder if we're getting 2 darkrais in here or 3... The JP DP3s and DP 4... i want the one from DP4... but i can pretty much guess that the Alt Art Dialga and Palkia (which came in the Japanese LVX decks) are not gonna be holo... looking @ dialgas number vs. cresselia...

Am i the only one whose noticed that Infercatty and Firestarter Decks just got a new friew for drawing cards?

It's weird, I had a similar theory running through my head before I went to bed last night. I though, if there's about 40 cards out, they'd slice it in with DP5, split them evently, add a few other promos and specials and give us two 100-110-card sets as DP5 and DP6.
 
dangit. i got a 4-4 vaporeon line and n ow i probably cant use them for like 5 more months.
 
The only way that this set is gonna please me is if there is 3 lvX in every box lol.. I dont even think wailord is gonn appear here
