Tuesday, 2/12, Kid Attempts Robbery of Pokemon Cards at Gun Point

That is horrible. My cousin is six and loves Pokemon. He has Kabutops Ex, Absol SW, ect. No one should be steeling cards! I'm a collector and have over 4,000 cards. I still realize, that they are just paper! I hope the kid is really ashamed of what he did. I also hope the six-year-old isn't emotionally scarred for life! This just makes me sick!

This kid is pathetic. Of course, if he was raised right this wouldn't have happened. No one ever teaches these kids right from wrong, and the schools legally can't bring it up. It wouldn't surprise me if his parents both worked all day, and he gets stuck in day care all day. Some kids just can't handle the lack of attention from their parents.

First of all, why did the parents even allow their kid to have any sort of gun.
Well I would like to say, that how guns may lead to violence, airsoft guns are usually very safe, just like a nerf gun. (I have an airsoft gun and I assure you they are safe) I doubt any parents would give a 10 year old an air soft gun. He may have taken it from his older brother or something. This kid just has some...special issues.

No, I agree with the 'Shroob. One day it could be a pellet gun and the next a paintball gun and the next a real gun. Guns in general lead to what happened in this kind of example. No, I don't think that he has special issues; he just didn't think of the consequences. Special issues would be the accident at Virginia Tech a while back. Nothing to kid about and I would hate to hear someone who started like this would end up like that: a murderer.

dmaster out.

Well hopefully this kid will learn right from wrong from all of this. Your right it very well may snowball. But its a good thing they caught it before he jumped to a real gun (If it sounds like I'm defending him, I'm not, nothing justifies what he did)

Wow. Just wow. Pokemon is a game you're supposed to enjoy and have fun with other people, not rob people just to win. I mean, this is what leads up to serial killers. I'm also only 10, but for some child that even thought of that idea is shameful. Very shameful indeed. Even if he did get away and won something, he would feel guilt. Guilt that he won from cards he STOLE. This really disturbs me.

Well, I'm not defending him, but hey, I think we can all recall INCREDIBLY stupid moments in our lives. I remember when I got in trouble foir stealing Pokemon Books at our Middle School bookfair (that was about 7-8 years ago). I look back now and wonder why did I try stealing something that was only what... $5? lol Even with that, though, I don't think many idioticly stupid moments on this scale of stupidity and violence (if you want to call it that...). Things like this make me wonder what our world is coming to. I mean... It generally seems like each generation of mankind is getting, more violent, more selfish, and more person than the previous. At this rate, geeze, I think mankind will either be extinct or be on the endangered species list by the year 3000 because all the selfish murderers and robbers that will be around by that time.

Anyways, as for that kid... one word... person. SO what if it was an Airsoft gun? Suspend him and put him in bootcamp. Maybe he'll learn what honest, hard work, and respect means. But yeah... it's appearent that his parents don't take care of him properly. As much as we all dislike what he did, you also can't help but feel somewhat sorry for him. Of course, it's still no excuse for doing what he did. Nothing can excuse such a thing.

I couldn't help loling at this, who would go that crazy over cards!?!?!? I know someone could've gotten hurt but this is pokemon: it's supposed to be harmless and not make kids go to juvie over this stuff. But really: why would some kid do this? probably a bully

What the kid did was completely wrong, but I have trouble understanding that he would use a gun to get cards, THEY ARE JUST CARDS!!

Wow, this is really crazy. That kid must've been on crack. ;/. Here in our country, if something like that happens. He'll get expelled on the spot and no schools will accept him.

^

Ya, I know, seriously, lol.

Well, bottom line is, what this 10 yr. old did was very wrong and he should be expelled for it. There. I said it. Please don't repeat this paragraph.

I read the orignal post with great dismay. I can't help but think of my son who is 6 having this happen to him. It's downright scary that pointing a gun (toy or not it's as others have stated just a matter of degrees) at a 6 year old for the purpose of robbery is something that can be contemplated by a 10 year old.

But, there's something else here. What is the relevance of the news report mentioning it is Pokemon cards. Besides the negative impact on the image of the game, it in a way provides an excuse for the action. The arguement runs something like, yes we know the kid is disturbed, but hey if there weren't any Pokemon cards involved the incident wouldn't occur. It's a bogus argument, but I lived this thing back in the 80's with Dungeons and Dragons. A disturbed kid plays D&D, he commits suicide ... ergo D&D leads to suicide.

Sad, just sad.

OMFG! This is pathetic! What the hell was that kid thinking?! He's an idiot!

Well... i could go on but... :D

This article makes me really sad for so many reasons. That poor six-year old must be absolutely traumatized. I hope he's okay.

Wow I hope that kid gets prosecuted for the crime and I hope the other kid gets his cards back. He should not have brought them to school though. I used to but then I got caught so I did not do that anymore. However I know he is a minor but Juvenile is a slap on the wrist in my mind. I also think he should be expelled and grounded until he is old enough to drink. Which is legally 21.:)

I remember when Pokemon Cards were banned from school... Sounds like they should have kept that in effect indefinitely. It's sad to hear stories like this...
