Here is yet another card from Dark Explorers that make me go, "Wow! That makes things so much more playable that before. But is it enough?" This is the card that finally makes restored Pokemon playable. We go from the fossil cards that make us hope to find a restored Pokemon in our last seven cards to Twist Mountain which gives us a 50% chance of playing a card that is in our hand. Now objectively, this is still horrible. Why would I bother with a Pokemon that requires a special card in play to get it out and then only gives me a 50/50 chance of being able to play it? These restored Pokemon must be pretty amazing to go to this much trouble right?
Alas compared to the EXs that dominate the current format they are not. However, the latest addition to the restored Pokemon, Aerodactyl, has the potential to see use with its ability that acts as a permanent Pluspower while it sits upon the bench. I predict many will try to tech that combo into their decks but I cannot see Twist Mountain as anything but a curiosity to play with in the long run. 6/10 for being a great improvement on what came before.
