Pokemon (18):
Strategy:
I don't think this deck is too great by any means but I thought it could be a lot of fun. Basically this deck revolves around a synergy which I saw between tornadus and battle reporter. Its pretty simple, tornadus can deal 120 damage with 3 energy when you have the same number of cards as your opponent. Battle reporter allows you to draw cards until you have the same number as your opponent. The strategy is very simple.
In addition to this, I have several other cards in order to ensure the same hand size as my opponent. 4 Maintenance means you can cut your hand size by 1. This is important for the deck as it allows you to decrease your hand size to be lower than 5, which is the lowest that the deck has a card for. This deck runs Delphox for a few reasons. Firstly, it allows you to always be able to make your hand size 6 before attacking. Secondly, it gives draw power that can be lost by playing battle reporter, or having to end the turn with a supporter that gives me a specific hand size. I also run several different supporters to give fixed number hand sizes- 5 for shauna and 7 for sycamore, while N gives a hand size equal to the number of prizes. This makes Milotic very good in my deck as I can equal the number of prizes my opponent and I have with energy grace, while also instantly fully powering up a Tornadus (or Delphox). These are the cards that I am using to manipulate my hand size.
I am also running a 2-2 dusknoir line. This is in order to distribute damage dealt by the other pokemon as tornadus will not be reaching many ohkos against EX pokemon. Dusknoir also means I am not running any lysandre since I can't afford it in my deck. And lastly, since I can utilize dce in my deck I have a mewtwo EX.
I have a mountain ring in the deck just as a counter stadium and to help me set up the pathetically weak feebas. Milotic means I can hopefully avoid having to run any energy retrieval cards, so I don't run any and have a sacred ash to get pokemon back from the discard. The rest of the cards are fairly explanatory. Since I am stretching my supporters and other cards somewhat, dowsing machine is the strongest. Garbodor could be a slight problem vs the deck, but both my attackers are effective without abilities. Pyroar can be dealt with appropriately by Delphox or correct use of energy shifting with Dusknoir.
This deck is mainly just for fun. I figured it would be challenging to have to play around the cards in order to get a perfect number to hit for 120 with Twister Throw. This deck will also do decently vs the fighting decks that will come out, since tornadus resists fighting and mewtwo can hit them for super effective. It also has decent recovery since tornadus is a stage 1 and both tornadus and delphox can be charged up instantly by a milotic after a ko.
All feedback is appreciated! I know the strategy is messy, but its fun I think this deck could also be effective using electrode + red card, because this also allows me to disrupt the opponen't hand every turn. But electrode isn't quite as good an attacker and does not offer the same amount of draw power.
