Two people got their cards jacked at our prerelease... :(

I was one of them. I had nine packs, and I had just traded one Pokemon Catcher for two COL Smeargles (i thought it was unfair, but the guy REALLY wanted them).

I pulled a reverse Unfeasant, Swanna, and Klinklang. Two catchers, two max potion.

My friend got his jacked too. Sometimes I just dont get people, and I feel stupid for letting it happen at the same time.

I guess "keep an eye on your drink" works on Pokemon cards too.

But really, that's not cool at all; for someone to be that desperate to steal cards doesn't have the right spirit or mindset. You play with what you have, not stealing other people's cards in the middle of nowhere.

I've actually had this kind of a problem at the leagues in town. Not sure if this applies here: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/kleptomania, but it's actually some interesting stuff. Some people are just different that way. :F Did you have a backpack to hold your stuff in? I've been usually extra careful when it comes to my cards and belongings.

dmaster out.

I've heard of deckboxes and such going missing, too (with decks in them) at some leagues. Really sucks you ended up having your packs snatched. I suppose the lesson learnt at the end of it is to be vigilant in keeping your belongings safe.

At least it was the cards, and only those. (I know it still sucks but it's better than, say, your wallet or house keys)

At out PR there was this one kid that went around and picked up everything that he found on the table and I caught him trying to take my sleeved deck and he claimed he was going to give it to our PTO and I was furious, but he left before I could find out who he was

I would have grabbed his arm (non-painfuly, of course.) and told the PTO/professors what he was doing, and make him return all the stolen items.

I didnt have a backpack, normally my girlfriend just keeps the boxes in her purse between games. I think from now on I will bring at least a messenger bag to these kinda things.

There was a little kid from my league that went to nationals that had his whole competitive deck stolen, it was apparently easily a $150+ deck (actually more i think). Fortunately he had already competed, and fortunately the only thing that was stolen was the deck, since it was the only thing in the bag they snatched.

Anyone here had their stuff stolen outright like that? Where? and how did you feel about it?

@ noob muffin
is there alot of that at Yu-gi-oh functions?

The Yugioh community is infamous for theft. My friend said he's had $150 worth of cards stolen at a tournament, and something "disappears" almost all the time.

Gee if i ever go into a league with cards i'll have to keep my eyes out for kids with grabby hands o__o

and you have my condolences on the loss of your cards :(

Try having three full decks stolen at Nationals like I had. This was before the Professor Cup so I couldn't even play a good deck for that. The really sad part is I had it in the staff area the entire time it was not with me. I contacted TPCi about it.

OHMYGOSH!!! I have a PR to go to today. ( O~O) I'll keep my eye on my stuff 24/7.
I go to my pokemon league, and none of my stuff ever has been stolen. I usally try to put my stuff in a chair or two and grab a table around my stuff. That helps me to keep an eye on it.
Well, I hope nobody's things get stolen any more. :\ I wish if some kid wanted something or wanted to look at your deck, they could just ask and you could supervise them. (While looking at your deck.)

This sounds stupid, but I'm a little confused at to what happened. Are you saying the guy who wanted the Smeargles stole your packs?

No, i had just traded for two Smeargle CL, and my deck got snatched shortly after.

Oh and about league, my lady in charge of ours says this literally NEVER happens at league, but as soon as we have a PR and unfamiliar people are there, stuff gets stolen.

Also, that is awful dragon expert :( I feel for you man.

I've never really had anything stolen. Last year at regionals, I was trading with a guy I knew, and while I was looking at his binder, someone tried to walk away with my playmat, but he grabbed it before they could get away. Even at nationals, I had a binder with...uhh...well over a thousand dollars worth of older cards and nothing at all got stolen. I kept my backpack either on my lap or in front of me while trading. During games, I set it in front of me, under the table. Honestly, it isn't that bad of a problem if you make it a point to keep track of your stuff and make it difficult for people to swipe it.

Of course, at nationals, a guy I know got his RH MegaJudge deck stolen :/

I've never had anything stolen from me. My league is a very honest place too. My brother leaves stuff all over the league and nobody takes it. He's even left stuff before, and nothing has been stolen. Sorry about getting stolen from. I understand how awful that'd be.

Our league is also pretty honest. Everything pretty much knows everyone, but it's those pre-releases and tourneys where you have to be careful!!

Great news!!!!

They found both mine and my friends deck-box with cards. They had both been picked up accidentally by other people from league. I suggest that everyone going to PRs put their names on their boxes, and of course keep them close.

Happy Ending :D

Looks like I'll have to put my name on everything and keep my eye on it at tournaments. Never had this happen to me, but I've heard about it. I can't believe for Pokemon of all things people would be stealing.

Anything that has any product that is worth money will have people stealing thing. I keep all my binders, deck boxes, dice, etc. in a laptop case and keep it zipped up and on my shoulder the entire time. I only take something out if I'm using it, if I pull out my second binder I'll put my first away. If I'm playing a game I'll keep the shoulder strap wrapped around my leg between my feet so nobody can take it.

If you keep your stuff close to you people aren't going to take your stuff, they'll go after the people who are leaving their boxes and binders lying around on tables without looking at them.
