Let's talk typing. We essentially have three psychic flying and one doesn't count because well it's a legendary.

I think we need more Psychic Flying type. It's just such a good type up. It keeps them balanced in the weaknesses they. Even my own Sigilyph can take a bolt of lighting fairly well without insta kill.

Personally I think Sigi needs an evolution.

I honestly don't know why Noctowl isn't a part/Psychic type, though why u no mention Xatu?

Psychic Flying is a quite good paring in my opinion, because it balances out the weaknesses and resistances of both types, increasing it's FIghting resistance, yet adding Rock, Ice, and Lightning as weakness, keeping evrything balanced.(This library computer has an awful keyboard, darn mis-spel;ling.)

I think we could do with another good Water/Flying type, as most of them suck and Mega Gyarados loses its Flying type. True, it's 4x weak against Electric attacks, but if there was an ability which halved Special Attack, it could make up for it.

I'd also like another Flying/Steel type, as it only has two weaknesses and I'd rather have a more attack based one, or maybe even one which evolves.

I wanted to get some ideas of what people thought would be some good ideas for psychic flying type. Like if they had any design ideas or what they would like to see. Also Noctowl, lol

I think it would be better if it was for general types and not just one, as it's too specific, which is why I mentioned Water and Steel types, too.

Noctowl should definitely be part psychic, total agreement.

As far as a new idea for a psychic/flying ... how about something based off the classic 'brain in a jar'?

I'm making this thread more general. You may talk about any type combinations, existent and non-existent, here. And please try to put some thought in your posts. I don't want sprites only or "we should definitely get more of that". Be creative:).

Those already in use are 90% transparent (only half if its just the reverse combo of an existing one or merely a mega evolution)


There is plenty of combos that seem so obvious, but are barely used.

Electric & Steel for example. There is only the Magnemite-line so far, even though it feels as natural as Water+Ground, which has 5 different evolutionary lines by now.

Or Grass & Ground. Still only Torterra.

Fire & Poison seems like an easy match too. Employing hazardous smoke would be more creative than just putting things on fire and calling it a Fire type xD
 
The type combinations I've wanted to see from the beginning were Electric/Fire, Electric/Poison, and Ice/Fighting. My original idea for an Electric/Fire, prior to Steel's introduction, was a toaster oven. Imagine my glee when Gen V rolled around and changed Heat Rotom's typing to Electric/Fire! It's a microwave oven, but close enough to what I originally envisioned 10 years prior that I was satisfied.

Electric/Poison, despite the fact it would be hit pretty hard by Ground attacks, was always a typing I thought would be cool nonetheless. Not quite sure what a potential Electric/Poison type could be, but I have some rough ideas. I know porcupine's quills don't contain any toxins, but I think in the context of a Pokémon the idea could work well. Or, as Gamefreak is moving further away from making all aquatic-based Pokémon Water-types, I think an Electric/Poison ray would be pretty cool.

Ice/Fighting is another I've dreamed up since the RBY days. While the addition of Fighting-type would give Ice-types Fairy, Flying, and Psychic weaknesses, it would also add a couple resistances and neutralize Ice's Rock weakness. Ice could cover Flying-types while gaining the coverage to hit Rock- and Steel-types. Not the greatest typing, but given it's an Ice-type combination, that's to be expected. I think a yeti or polar bear would fit perfectly. Perhaps the one-day Mega Evolution of Beartic?
 
I really want to see a new Grass/Electric Pokemon
Being immune to Thunder Wave Spore and all the powder moves is already awsome,
Plus 2 of my favorite types.
Mow rotom can only learn Leaf Storm. Imagine a new one that can also use Giga Drain Leech Seed..
I seriously want one :p
 
Fighting/Flying and Dark/Psychic were combos I've been anticipating, but I'm pleased with what kinds of Pokémon we got with these combos. (Hawlucha gets points for being a wrestler, and being able to learn the series' first dual-typed attack, while Malamar is awesome with Contrary + Superpower.)

Back on topic, I would have loved to see Bug/Psychic, Bug/Dark, Fighting/Fairy, Electric/Fighting, Ice/Poison, Ice/Fire, Rock/Poison and Dragon/Fighting introduced.

For a Bug/Psychic Type, I would have loved to see a majestic queen insect in a similar fashion, a la, Vespiquen. Mega Butterfree and Mega Vivillon would be perfect candidates for this combo as well.

Bug/Dark on the other hand, I would prefer it to be a Legendary based off Beelzebub, or even your average bug based off those Cy-Bugs from Wreck-It Ralph.

Fighting/Fairy: A Pseudo-Legendary mythological being like a Minotaur or Centaur would be excellent additions to the Fairy Type specimen, since we could do with more masculine Fae. I would also imagine this being Mega Granbull's Type combination one day.

Electric/Fighting. Mega Electivire's combo? Definitely welcomed!

Ice/Poison or Rock/Poison would have worked really well for a Legendary similar to Zygarde. Either one would be a proper combo to further prove that the third Legendary is supposed to control Xerneas and Yveltal, rather than having a combo with Attacks that will not have any effect on either one's Typing.

Ice/Fire, a two-headed monster sharing a body of ice and fire is the route to go. A mixed Attacker is also welcomed from this.

Dragon/Fighting. Potentially a good combo for a Pseudo-Legendary. I would imagine the Pokémon being very similar to Shendu, Drago and their brethren from Jackie Chan Adventures.
 
I really want a Poison/Rock type. Maybe it could be a rock with poisonous spores on it, a rock Cobra, a Rattle Snake, or maybe even a rocky Black Widow Spider.

I think there should be an Ice/Fairy type, as it could be the ultimate Dragon buster. Perhaps it could be based on a snowflake, or a snow goblin.

Another type I'd like is an Electric/Dark dog. Perhaps Manectric's rival, or a branched evolution for Electrike.

Also, a Rhino which is Rock/Normal type, but based on a different kind of Rhino to Rhyhorn, like a White Rhino.

Plus a proper Fighting/Flying bird and not a wrestler thing.
 
How about a Dragon/Fairy? I sure would like to see what that would look like. lol

The only problem I see with this is that neither Dragonite nor Goodra can learn Fairy attacks.
