Pokemon Unanswered Questions in the Pokémon World

And no idea about Rhydon.

Precisely; rhydon's tail is inconsequential because what you care about is how tall it is; if you applied that same criteria to serpentine pokemon they would measure only a few centimeters (due to them being crawling in the ground), which is inexact and useless for the purposes of having an idea of how big the pokemon is.

If Cubone was really a baby Kangaskhan, then why is it Ground instead of Normal type?

Why doesn't the Strong Jaw Ability affect Hyper and Super Fang?

If you can get anything out of Mega kangaskhan's particular form of mega evolution (assuming you don't care much about how amazing it is), is the end to that cubone theory, which was fairly dumb to begin with, quite honestly.
In short, no, cubone and marowak are different species from kangaskhan. That was just some fan theory that inexplicably gained traction.

Oh, and Why do you need a specific incense to breed specific baby Pokémon?

I think it was a way to restrict access to baby pokemon because they're born out of previously existing pokemon, so tying their breeding to items is a reason why they couldn't appear on previous games (like why eevee doesn't evolve into leafeon with a leaf stone, because otherwise they would have to explain why you couldn't have a leafeon on every game before diamond and pearl).

It's just one of GF's little idiosyncrasies that fans would be perfectly willing to ignore (or relentlessly call them out about it when they fix them; you simply can't please some people). I, for one, hope they get rid of the incenses someday.

Now, the anime is known for defying all logic at times, and it is indeed its own canon. BUT what baffles me is we've seen Spoink in a few episodes. In one of those episodes, they mention it can't stop bouncing otherwise it will die. However, in one episode it hardly bounces at all and manages to live! I'm sorry, I don't remember which episodes they were.

It's weird, because when GF added the method of how Piloswine evolves, there was already a way to get a one with Ancient Power in Pokémon XD. They could have made it location specific or item induced instead of retconing it.

Oh and I like the Incenses, specifically Luck Incense. In ORAS you don't get Amulet Coin until way later, so LI makes a good substitute.

So, uhh, are the clothes that Machoke, Machamp, Sawk, and Throh wear part of their flesh or something? Like some weird crotch carapace and a full body flesh suit?

Tms and hms are put in your computer and then you plug a USB cable from it to your pokemons USB receiver port and you click install and voila. You learned a new move.

If Arceus emerged before Palkia, and Palkia is the Pokemon responsible for matter existing, how could the matter in Arceus' body exist before Palkia?

Arceus created everything, Dialga and Palkia were given responsibility of the time and matter respectively which Arceus created.

All right. But the same can be asked about Dialga.
Pearl's PokeDex entry:
"A Pokémon spoken of in legend. It is said that time began moving when DIALGA was born."

How could Arceus hatch if everything was frozen in time? PMD gave us the answer to what frozen time looks like. Anything caught there is immobilized. How did Arceus hatch before Dialga?

That's just legend. 'Legend' is synonymous with fictitious TBH. It's the same deal with a new Entei being born whenever a volcano erupts, and a volcano erupting whenever it roars. It's just some funny thing some developer thought of :p

There's one thing I've been wondering about for some time now:

How can Mewtwo have a Mega Stone (yes, even two) that can be found out in the wild, when it's actually a man-made Pokémon? Are Mega Stones a product of nature or are they man-made, too...? o_O

Mega stones were created by ancient bonds tying humans and Pokémon. Even though Mewtwo had artificial origins it is still capable of love, so at some point in history, a bond it had with its trainer created mega stones.

Except Mewtwo was created during Red/Blue's journey by Team Rocket. If there was a timeline, Red/Blue and Ruby/Sapphire would be happening at the same time, so Team Rocket would have had to create the megastones for Mewtwo and then scattered them across Kalos and Hoenn, but not Kanto.

Do you have a source? This is the first I've heard of this theory.

Nah, I knew about the timeline. I was referring to Mewtwo being created during RBY. It's been years since I've played them, but there was never any reference to Mewtwo's birthtime that I've ever heard of.

It's heavily implied (if not outright confirmed; I don't recall) that Mr. Fuji was involved in Mewtwo's birth when he was younger, which puts Mewtwo as being created some years before the events of RBY (depending on how old Mr. Fuji was at the time).

In the Adventures Manga, Team Rocket enlisted Blaine to create Mewtwo from Mewtwo's DNA. Eventually, Blaine had to add his own DNA because the single cell they got from Mew wasn't enough to finish it. This is all during Red's journey.

In the anime, Team Rocket forces Mr. Fuji to create Mewtwo, and he used the funding to clone his dead daughter as well. Eventually, the daughter, as well as a clone Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle faded away and died, leaving just Mewtwo filled with anger, who proceeded to destroy the lab and kill Dr. Fuji and everyone else in the lab. He was then found and used by Giovanni for a period of time, before destroying his lab and flying off, leaving until the events of Mewtwo Strikes Back. This is during Ash's journey.

While neither of these are true canon, due to RBY having almost no storytelling, we have to draw from other sources. In the games we're left to a few books in the Pokémon mansion:

Diary: July 5

Guyana, South America
A new Pokémon was discovered deep in the jungle.

Diary: July 10

We christened the newly discovered Pokémon, Mew.

Diary: Feb. 6

Mew gave birth.
We named the newborn Mewtwo.

Diary: Sept. 1

MEWTWO is far too powerful.
We have failed to curb its vicious
tendencies…

When you get the Pokémon Mansion, it's been destroyed, and Mewtwo is nowhere to be found. It's not unlikely that Mewtwo destroyed the lab and flew off shortly before the events of RBY.

Pokemon Origins does hint at Mr Fuji creating Mewtwo, which is probably the closest thing to canon I can think of.
